Beautiful photos. My parents have a Condo in Palm Desert so I am out there pretty frequently. In fact I'm going in a few weeks.

The Living Desert Zoo is an amazing zoo, and the hiking trail up Mt. Eisenhower inside the zoo is a must do if you ever go back.

I've hiked halfway up Mt San Juacinto and it is a brutal hike especially as the sun starts to come out, even in the winter months. I have yet to use the Aerial Tram but those pictures look cool.

Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places, especially hidden valley, it's just such a unique place.

thanks -- yeah we kept saying lets go to the living desert, lets go to salton sea, but then we just sat by the pool -- which was fine!

will definitely go back, but next time take jetblue straight there.

i dk why i grabbed american flights, with a change in dallas -- cheaped out i guess, i don't remember.

my new motto is if you can't get a direct flight in the states don't go. 😅

I agree. My united flight home is brutal. It's a half day of travelling for no reason. But glad to hear that you plan to go back out again at some point.

But ya, I'm going for my buddies bachelor party, and staying at the condo. We are all over thirty and some of us have kids so our plan is hike in the AM and beat the heat, and then sit at the pool for the rest of the day 😂. Maybe go to Palm Springs one day.

I'm a big tennis fan so I want to go back out in March for the Indian Wells Masters tournament which is a pretty big tournament.

nice -- that would be my ideal next visit.

hike all am and pool all pm.

plus add in a few visits like living desert, salton sea and maybe even actually go inside the nice looking art museum?

my only disappoint out there was trying to visit modernist homes, which i love to do in los angeles, but it is much harder in palm springs. they are booked up and they dont even offer open houses as often as you can find around los angeles. i didn't try too hard and so its something to keep in mind if anyone is into that.

and lastly of course unless you are attending it, avoid coachella weekends. we went a few days after the last show and it was fine and quiet again. i was worried maybe all the party people might stick around awhile, but they don't.

Nice photos - we were out there a few years ago for my husband's 50th birthday, stayed with friends who have a house a few blocks from the Liberace house. The art museum is definitely worth a visit as is The Parker - hotel with interior design by Jonathan Adler.

i thought we were staying at a hotel on the main street next to the liberace house, but it turned out it was one with the same name elsewhere.

it didn't matter a bit, but its another little thing to be aware of out there. 😅

Great photos of the desert.  I've been here for many years and love it, although the summer can be fierce.  Glad that you enjoyed it.  Anza Borrego is worth the effort and long drive, as is Idylwild up in the mountains. Looks like you saw quite a bit.

wow -- both of those look totally up my alley and my speed.

morning hikes are the thing.

two very nice tips thanks!

Thanks for sharing. I want to experience that tramway ride now what amazing views. 😄
