Posted June 8, 20232 yr Got to go to Italy twice last year which was pretty great. Figured I’d split the cities up into separate threads hopefully that is not annoying Bar Luce at the Fondazione Prada aka the Wes Anderson bar More Fondazione Prada Prada Casa showroom on Via Durini Versace Casa showroom on Via Durini Basilica di San Lorenzo Maggiore Basilica di San Abrogio Castello Sforzesco Duomo Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Milano Centrale
June 8, 20232 yr Great photos. I used to go there a lot. It’s wonderful and photogenic in the center, but gets quite industrial and gritty very quickly outside of there. I do like the place a lot though. My favorite thing were the tiny restaurants seemingly run out of peoples living rooms. You’d never know they were there, but luckily my colleagues were always eager to impress and take me. My hovercraft is full of eels
June 8, 20232 yr Thanks for the photos. I've been to Milan several times (by train and by driving) and I enjoy it. It certainly feels like Italy's largest city/metro. On a clear day from the Duomo, I do enjoy seeing the Alps. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
June 8, 20232 yr Author I love Milan. The history there runs deep like it does everywhere in Italy but the sites (excepting the Duomo) are much less touristed than elsewhere. You can go to places like San Lorenzo or San Ambrogio which both date to the 4th century and basically have the place to yourself. The Sforza Castle and park is also one of the best public spaces I’ve ever been in. Sitting on a hill there next to some medieval ruins sipping a Campari spritz from one of many spritz stands (lol) in the park while eating a picnic from Peck was one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve had. On top of that the public transportation is incredibly efficient. Trams and subways all over the place and everything runs every 4 minutes. It’s really such a great modern city.

I can never understand why that kind of great casual food is so common in places like Italy but almost completely lacking in the states. It seems like every other storefront is a bar serving espresso, beer and spritzes, decent bakery, and simple meals. It’s so wonderful
June 9, 20232 yr ^ not to mention, those thin square roman pizza squares they cut with scissors > ridiculous sized nyc slice yeah i said it lol. anyway, wonderful photos, really a joy to look over -- milan is always worth it. 👍
