Posted July 21, 20231 yr Cable TV's popularity has been declining for a while now. Do you still subscribe to traditional cable TV service? This includes satellite TV.
July 21, 20231 yr No gonna lie. It was a great day when, in 2016, I took my old Spectrum box to their store in OC, where Intro now is, dumped it on the counter and said see ya’. My hovercraft is full of eels
July 21, 20231 yr Yes and no. It is technically bundled with my HOA Internet plan, but I don't have a television or stream it onto my computer/phone.
July 21, 20231 yr Yes, because of Bally Sports and some of the other sports packages. still more efficient with AltaFiber than some of the streaming services.
July 21, 20231 yr We switched internet to Windstream DSL (since upgraded to fiber) in 2015 because it had much better upload speeds, important for WfH. Our Time Warner bundled price was already not great since we used a TiVo/cable card instead of their garbage cable box. We stuck with that for not even a year before buying an AppleTV and going all streaming, it was quite the wonderful day giving them their flaky equipment back. We did have Hulu Live and Sling on and off for a few years to wean us off a few then cable-only shows, but even those are long gone. We don't really watch sports and have been time-shifting our shows for years, so its been a very easy transition.
July 21, 20231 yr Mine (Astound/RCN) is also bundled into my HOA 5G high speed internet package along with TIVO, HBO and MAX. It's a really good deal, under $100 a month for all of it so I can't complain. It's really good service too.
July 25, 20231 yr we ditched traditional cable tv after 2000 or 2001 i believe it was when we rediscovered there were still free over the air channels, so we fuss around with an antenna and reception now just like back in the 1960s-70s. 😂
July 25, 20231 yr Author Between the rabbit ears having so many channels now and 300 free Smart TV channels I'm covered.
