Is it just me or are the thumbnail images in the "Posts" section- the recent posts to the right of the list of topics- all just random pictures? I mean, I'm sure there's some pattern, but I can't figure out what.

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s a random picture within that thread. It can be turned off if it becomes too annoying.

It's weird that it's not the avatar of the picture of the person who made the post.

Agree with @X - if it's not the avatar of the forumer, think it should be turned off.
