Posted April 17, 200619 yr I went to Zoo Blooms at the Cincinnati Zoo this weekend. It was the first time I had been to the Zoo during spring and I was fortunate that the weather cooperated. The Cincinnati Zoo claims that the Zoom Blooms festival is the largest collection of tulips in the Midwest and it looked pretty convincing to me. Since I don’t take many photos of animals or flowers, this was a great opportunity to work on my skills. So how did I do?
April 17, 200619 yr I think the answer to your question is, "quite well!" Thanks! I know I won't make it to Zoo Blooms this year, but your thread is wonderful!
April 17, 200619 yr I haven't been to the zoo in a while. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 17, 200619 yr Like a pro! Gorgeous stuff. That park-scale locomotive is beautiful. It looks like the track was laid using streetcar rail. My mom used to have peacocks. They're strange birds. Sometimes they can make a call that sounds almost like a human scream, and it carries for a long way.
April 17, 200619 yr Nice photography, I'm not much of a zoo fan, but I'm glad Cincy has one of the better ones, at least thats what I'm told. Cincy has some cool buildings too, such as the one you captured (the reptile building maybe?) and the elephant/giraffe building.
April 18, 200619 yr Yeah, Ink, I'm not a big fan of zoos either, but I haven't been there in probably nine years now, so I'm due for a trip...
April 18, 200619 yr We went the week prior, hardly any tulips were in Bloom, what a difference a week makes! Ahh Spring On a sad note, I was one of the last few thousand to see Colossus alive, a very large Silverback lowland Gorilla (was largest in captivity?) He died after some routine checkups last Tuesday (4/11/06) {He was "frisky" the day we went <nudge><nudge>}
