I've finally found a server uptime/status solution that is free and works well.  It is a 3rd-party solution and will work regardless of our server being up or not.  It can be viewed here:

* You'll see that we're not at 100% for uptime already.  This was due to our server saving the database every morning at 0400 hours.  When doing so, the site becomes unresponsive for about 2 minutes.  I've added this in as "server maintenance" time moving forward.  This will keep our uptime from being dinged for this every day.
