FLOORS Jacksonville developer envisions high-rise at Landing East site By Emma Behrmann – Reporter, Jacksonville Business Journal Jul 24, 2024 A Northeast Florida developer envisions "the tallest building between Atlanta and Miami" for a riverfront parcel in downtown Jacksonville. Cross Regions, a real estate company headquartered in Jacksonville, has been eyeing the land east of the Main Street Bridge for over a year. That parcel, called the Landing East Parking Lot Site, is city-owned and must be open for a request for proposals, in which multiple developers can submit bids, or can undergo a negotiated disposition with a developer. The Downtown Investment Authority must decide which route to take and decided to plan an additional workshop at its workshop meeting Wednesday. more/paywall — https://www.bizjournals.com/jacksonville/news/2024/07/24/cross-regions-landing-east.html

July 26, 2024Jul 26 A lot of economic momentum there, and the international investors need to look beyond Miami. Plus the city has 900+ thousand residents. I can see Jacksonville blowing up.

I can see Jacksonville blowing up. 900k residents in 900k sq miles — 😂 but yeah i like jacksonville. i prefer to fly there when i visit my mom in nsb and drive down. i like to stay over there before i fly home. downtown is meh, but its ok. the volstead is nice if you want to go out at night. i stay in southbank and drive around. the sw side cummer museum is nice and decent restaurants around there. san marco plaza area is good. i always go to bold beans coffee by the beach. st augustine is fun and i love the open, wild florida seaside below it. i dislike fla in general, but i would love to get a quiet beachhouse down there for a week or something. jax is on the ups for sure.
