Posted October 29, 200420 yr wilmington, ohio population 11,921. clinton county seat. they have the weather radar station. stupid trucks and tall cars kept stopping in the middle of the road from the traffic lights blocking shots, so i didnt even get everything i wanted to. besides, i was hungry and needed chili(camp washington). and also the warren county courthouse
October 30, 200420 yr Wilmington has some fine oldies! I wish I were fabulously wealthy; I'd go around buying neglected unique vintage buildings and restoring them, and maybe even renting them out at a loss just to preserve them and keep them alive.
October 30, 200420 yr Wow is the Warren County Courthouse the newest courthouse in Ohio? I don't even know where it is located and I live in Warren County and have been to Lebonon a bunch of times. I just assumed it was in the historic district.
November 20, 200618 yr Wow, well, this subject hasn't been hit on for over two years... but I thought I'd give an update on little ole Wilmington. Along with having the National Weather Service, we are home to the banana split festival, for inventing the banana split, wilmington college, orange frazier publishing company, and we are home to the midwest (and soon to be world) hub of DHL. Along with a new bypass that it going in on the northern half of the city, we hope to become the logistics capital of the United States with our great location equidistant from CIncinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, the 2nd largest trucking company in the US(R&L Carriers), Access to I-71, DHL, and a few other assets. Wilmington also is a "MainStreet Community" and the entire downtown is currently being revitalized with building murals, refurbishing, and just general energy boosting. Here are some of the Downtown Murals, I think they are amazing, one is still in progress: And here is just a small taste of what DHL has offered wilmington, we love our new yellow and red skyline, and that is not said sarcastically, their presence is felt throughout the entire community! I might post more later if anyone is interested
November 20, 200618 yr Welcome to the forum - we may not be wowed, we may not always be impressed, but we are ALWAYS interested. :) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 20, 200618 yr haha, I can take that subtle remark, yeah wilmington isn't shockingly stunning... but, city leaders right now are trying to boost its esteem... looking at those old photos, I can see that a lot has changed in 2 years... especially the removal of a tatoo parlor that I barely remember being there. Thanks for the welcome!
November 20, 200618 yr I was through Wilmington last summer, downtown has a good number of impressive, yet small-scale commerical buildings, there is a lot of potential. I notice above that a cool building has an address of 12 North South Street...that is comical.

I just assumed it was in the historic district. I believe it is located off of 48 over by the old Walmart store and Countryside YMCA. It's part of the larger Warren County Government Center.
November 20, 200618 yr ^Just take East Street from downtown/old Lebanon, it is a mile or so south. I think the courthouse was built in 1996, but there are older government building in the sprawling complex. Someday I'll get a picture of the old courthouse in town, it is a cool structure. The placement of county offices in Lebanon has always frustrated me and is one of the reasons I so strongly dislike my home county.

North South St, South South Street, South North Street, North North Street... it confuses me all the time
November 20, 200618 yr The inside is even more extravagant... it seriously amazes me everytime I go in there... I'll try to find time to take some pictures, or find some for that matter
November 23, 200618 yr wilmington was never the same after the Bengals stopped having their summer camps there! ;) Seriously - go DHL, go R+L - all good. the Murphy looks great
November 23, 200618 yr Why they go to Kentucky, I have no clue... Maybe because Georgetown College's colors are orange black as well, who knows?
November 26, 200618 yr Here are some pics from a different thread that ColDayMan (I guess he is our leader?) posted... these pics show the town as a little more inviting =D Wilmington (pop: 11,921) is the county seat of Clinton County in southwest Ohio. The hub of DHL, one of the chief air freight handlers in the country along with the National Weather Service of the region, Wilmington plays a key role for the region, along with being a small town with a decent downtown, an interesting courthouse, and Wilmington College.
