Another large proposal for Dublin. We'll see if this goes anywhere unlike all the ones over at Bridge Park.

Mixed-use development with 25 buildings proposed on 43-acre site near Ohio University's Dublin campus

"A mixed-use development has been proposed on a 43-acre site near Ohio University's Dublin campus.

Plans for the project called Cosgray Commons were submitted to the city by architecture and design firm NBBJ.

The Seattle-based company, which has an office in Columbus, filed the application in May. Commercial real estate firm Colliers also is listed in the filing.

The proposed development is located on vacant property southeast of the Route 161 and Cosgray Road roundabout. The site is in Dublin's research flex zoning district and is adjacent to Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Integrated Education Center.

The project proposes a mix of office, residential and commercial uses. A site plan shows apartment complexes, hotels, mixed-use office and retail buildings, parking garages and townhomes spread across roughly 25 buildings. The development also includes open spaces throughout."

I feel like columbus doesn’t take advantage of how big NBBJ is and what they can build. It seems most of their Columbus projects are all small and basic. I know they have some bigger things, but it just seems like they are underutilized here.

Isn't that a statement about the developers more than the design firms? NBBJ, Moody Nolan and others in town have worked on massive, complex, design-forward projects around the country (and world) but there's just not a lot of that happening in mid Ohio.

Yes i agree, that’s why I said I feel they are underutilized by the city and companies here. Same with moody Nolan, who has done incredible projects for smaller colleges around the country. Ohio State has the ability to build pretty much any design they want, and just continue to build bare minimum basic buildings.

You should see the pile of crap buildings they want to place on the sites of Brown and Lord Hall (which should be rebuilt as replicas - especially with the latter being a Packard building)

Updated site plans and renderings were submitted. Some interesting concepts with the central greenway.

Land planning - great. Architecture - just strip their licenses. I mean seriously, nothing but soviet russia is more depressing than that.

It’s pretty walkable and isn’t 100% car focused so I think it’s a huge win, especially up in that area.

The renderings look decent, and I do agree it could be a little more architecturally interesting. I hope it happens though and is great for that area.

The retail under the elevated walkway is a really cool touch and I hope that actually happens.

New Renderings Unveiled for 44 Acre Mixed-Use Development in Dublin

The project known as Cosgray Commons was resubmitted to the City of Dublin for development review, which includes a new look at this massive plan to transform 44 acres of farmland into a mix of housing, office, retail, hotel and greenspace.

Cosgray Commons was first unveiled last summer, but the site plan — submitted by NBBJ — has transformed a bit since then, with a more interconnected linear park running north-south through the center of the site.
