Posted April 21, 200619 yr Took this from my office on the 15th floor of the Leveque Tower. To the right you can see the AEP Tower and the old Post Office (now the Federal Courthouse). The bridges that cross the Scioto River carry trains from the NS, CSX and Ohio Central Railroads. It was just a beautiful morning and the scene looked so nice.
April 21, 200619 yr Very nice! I like how the river is so still and reflective. What is the building at the bottom left, in shadow?
April 21, 200619 yr Will Nationwide's new tower make it in this shot, or will it be too far to the right, behind the (Payroll Company) tower? Or am I not in the right area at all? Must be hard to get work done. My great uncle works in some federal building downtown he once took a pic during light snow, it was pretty spectacular.
April 21, 200619 yr The building at the bottom left in the shadow is City Hall. I think the new condominium tower that Nationwide wants to build would infact be in view from this perspective.
April 21, 200619 yr 15th floor office eh??? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 21, 200619 yr sorry, i lied, I acctually think that the new building that Nationwide wants to build would infact NOT be in the picture.
April 21, 200619 yr Actually the new Nationwide will be in the picture....if you look to the immediate left of the AEP Tower, you'll see a short red-brick building. The building immediately to it's left will be the new Nationwide condo tower.
April 21, 200619 yr Actually, the building to the left of the brick building is being renovated for use, and the new tower will go in the empty lot to the left of it.
April 21, 200619 yr I think there's some confusion over the mid-rise Nationwide office tower across the tracks from AEP, and the North Bank Condo Tower (also a Nationwide project). You can see the warehouse demolition for the North Bank Tower, but the mid-rise office tower is not in this picture (although it's well under way).
April 21, 200619 yr Actually, the building to the left of the brick building is being renovated for use, and the new tower will go in the empty lot to the left of it. They've actually removed about 15 feet of that building to make the empty lot larger for the tower. If you squint hard, you can see it in the picture. Note the black lines (interior floors) instead of a solid outer wall.
April 22, 200619 yr I drove by the corner where the new residential tower will be built and had to do a double take when I saw that a portion of the warehouse had been removed. Good to see them get the ball rolling and rather quickly at that.
April 26, 200619 yr What a nice view. You can also see storms moving in from the west and north, which is cool.
April 30, 200619 yr I tell you what, it really is a sight to see thuderstorms roll in from the west from this view. What a show!
