Since there hasn't been a post about this in years, this is probably fairly pointless.

I am not a sports guy at all but got a ticket to a Cyclones game Saturday night.

Is there any reason to get there early?

They are going to have fireworks so I will probably die with a few hundred other people as the place burns to the ground.

If it's also $1 beer night, then yes. But I think those are Tuesdays-Thursdays.

$1 beers on Wednesday nights, and $2 24oz beers on Tuesday nights. I think they do family/kids stuff on Friday and Saturday nights.

game was ok Cincinnati over Wheeling 3-1

No blood stained plexiglass shields around the ice. No fights.

Cincinnati seemed to have way more organized defense but whaddaIno?

$7.50 beers but they were almost a quart.

Interesting crowd - looked near sellout.

Unfortunately the Cyclones lost in the Kelly Cup Finals to Alaska this past season.

With the new season approaching they have unveiled a new look. New logo, uniforms, etc. Overall I think their new logo is more "professional" and sleeker. Their website could still use some work IMO. Maybe a more dynamic look. The site kinda falls flat. But overall this looks less like a minor league team and more like a professional team. This is (I believe) their second total redesign.

Haha sorry but that first logo looks like a 7th grader drew it.  The tornado looks like the tornados Samara drew from The Ring!

I just updated the first image with one from cincyshirts.com. For some reason there were no good images on google of the first logo big enough to post. I think the first one I originally put up was embroidered. Not defending the logo, just saying that the first one wasn't the actual logo as it was designed, but an embroidered version.

It's an okay logo. I can't say it's a major improvement over the anthropomorphized tornado.

Cyclones plan to lift attendance 3-5% this season

The Cincinnati Cyclones hockey team has a fresh logo, new promotions and expectations of setting another team attendance record as they drop the puck on a new season.

The Cyclones are shooting for averaging about 4,500 fans a game this season. General manager Kristin Ropp said she set a target of boosting attendance by 3 percent to 5 percent from last year's 4,200 average, which ranked 14th in the 22-team league.

"Those are big numbers because we're starting with high numbers," Ropp said.

The Cyclones drew 5,860 for their home opener on Oct. 25. They've played their other three games on the road, but they're back home Nov. 7-8.
