The Outback on Polaris Pkwy will be a .5 mile fully sidewalked walk 😜. Snarkiness aside, it's not traditionally walkable, but you can get to quite a bit of things from here via sidewalk. I see people using them all the time now before all the connective infrastructure is finished. There's also still 30+ other acres in the immediate area to be developed. The bike trail infrastructure here also connects to Westerville's extensive network of trails and parks. It'll be fairly easy to bike to Hoover (and soon Alum Creek) Reservoir and Highbanks Metro Park, too. Is this Bridge Park? No, but it's still an improvement over the legacy developments in the area. Also, there are seven fairly large office buildings within less than a mile from here plus the proposed office space. There will be people who will want to live here to walk to work, restaurants, entertainment, and grocery. Edited October 14, 20222 yr by aderwent

Make something that is a destination, mixed height buildings, there isn’t any housing super close that would be affected by height. Bring in a few 10+ story buildings mixed with 5-9 story, on either side of ikea way, and add a pedestrian bridge over 71 so people could even walk to the mall.
October 31, 20222 yr The Lyra Dr extension to Powell Rd and the new roundabout at Lyra and Powell is finally open!

January 23, 20232 yr Not at all exciting, like the Hamilton Quarter news, but a Wright-Patt Credit Union is going in next to Eddie Merlot's in front of the Hilton. Also, site prep has begun on the parcel next to the Residence Inn. Still no tenants announced. I'm still hoping for the rumored Lou Malnati's!
March 26, 20232 yr Wasn't sure where to put this- Not exactly Polaris but not Worthington either. On the opposite end of the building occupying 5,000 square feet will be Ohio's first Kindbody. Between the two is still available 3,000 square feet. Can Polaris land another first to Ohio establishment?

June 1, 20232 yr $116M Galaxy at Polaris starts construction, will bring apartments, retail, pickleball to the area It's a scaled-down version of the $150 million project initially proposed, but still carries a price tag of $116 million. The project's first phase will include a 731-space public parking garage; a six-story, 289-unit apartment building; about 37,000 square feet of commercial space; walking paths; a park; an amphitheater on an approximately 16-acre site. The previous proposal also included a 130-unit apartment building and an office building, but the developer pressed pause on that after failing to secure state tax credits from the new program for "transformational" projects. Franz Geiger, managing director of NP Limited Partnership, said the firm plans to apply for the credits again. "It would be much easier to just do apartments, but we wanted to create a neighborhood," Geiger said. "We want to do mixed-use." The commercial portion of the project will include a 7,000-square-foot restaurant and 25,000-square-foot entertainment and restaurant space.

July 8, 20231 yr A commenter on Reddit speculated that Pins had wanted to convert the old Art Van Furniture store at the SW corner of Lyra and Gemini into their Polaris location. Apparently the problem was they'd need more parking than is there, and Polaris Fashion Place wouldn't let them use their lot as overflow. I question this. They know without going through any processes that Columbus wouldn't let them build without additional parking? The mall wouldn't want a destination entertainment spot to possibly have to use a part of their lot that is hardly ever used? Also, the Easton location is by far their largest at 38,000 square feet. The old Art Van store is 70,000 square feet! Almost double their largest space! Edited July 8, 20231 yr by aderwent

I’m sure they could figure out how to make something that size work. I doubt the parking situation being a problem, and I would be shocked that the mall would care if they used overflow
July 9, 20231 yr The Art Van store is pretty massive, I know at least two car dealerships have looked at converting it and passed I wonder if there could be some kind of non-compete issue with Dave and Busters being a tenant at the mall? Star Lanes is also right there as well
