Posted May 1, 200619 yr georgetown, texas is north of austin and round rock. i wanted to put this up now as they had their town event poppy festival this week a good sign, coming into town is the awesome deco monument cafe. entering historic district the courthouse is getting renovated it has/had/will have a copper dome, which i was disappointed to not be able to see it says the first successful prosecution of the kkk was here dude, where's my dome? the rest are from around the courthouse square chisholm trial cattle drive route went thru yay for visitors centers on the square & their bathrooms even these low ones were all being renovated wild & impressive masonic hall behind one of those strips of buildings on the square just off the square, a great old 1800's wood church old fire station here's a surprise, those metal stairs were made in springfield, ohio! they saved their deco theater -- yay! i like old gas stations the old jail you wonder if any black hats galloped in and bust out some bad guys tin sheet metal buildings nice post office *** georgetown, tx is an intact & scenic old suburban/retirement oriented town ***
