    Ugh, Pulte. Almost as bad as Ryan Homes. Maybe they'll at least name the streets after the old roller coasters. "I live on 1403 Raging Wolf Bobs Drive". Heh.

^ Some context here, Cedar Fair hired EDG to come up with a conceptual plan to pitch to prospective developers. They are hoping to sell the whole piece of property off for development. Cedar Fair has also partnered with CSU's Urban Planning Master's capstone class to come up with an alternate proposal. That will  be complete by early May.

^ I hope they propose that best use includes an amusement park. Free of charge on a pay-by-ride basis

CSU released their preliminary renderings.

@BigDipper 80 ?

Pulte Homes said it plans to build 119 townhomes, 64 two-story single-family homes, and 125 ranch style homes on the 246-acre development, which it's calling "Renaissance Park at Geauga Lake."

Well, driving from Beaver Land Mine Ride Lane to Batman Knight Flight Circle would be kinda...cool.

They gonna name the streets after the rides? Like Raging Wolf Bobs Place?

Criminals

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

God, it looks like Rotterdam in 1940.

Of all the losses Cleveland has had in my lifetime, I have to imagine Geauga Lake is number one, and the wound keeps bleeding with its current purgatory. Sure business relocations/closures had more an impact, but this one still feels like the biggest trauma.

I guess I'm a bit older. For me, it would be Euclid Beach Park.

Geauga Lake could once again be a recreational hub

Geauga Lake - the body of water, not the amusement park - may once again be open to the public.

Aurora Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin is proposing the city buy the lake itself, along with 40 acres of lakefront that was once part of Sea World. City Council discussed the $4.5 million proposal in executive session on Monday night.

Since Geauga Lake amusement park closed in 2007, parts of the site have been redeveloped. There’s new housing on the east side and retail to the west. In 2020, Cleveland-based Industrial Commercial Properties bought the remaining 377 acres. The company has been performing demolition work and prepping the land for mixed-use development.
