Posted May 22, 200619 yr Hello. I am coming to Cincinnati this weekend and I had a couple of questions I was hoping some of you all could help me with. First off, I am really wanting to go to the top of the Carew Tower. How do I get info on that. How exactly does one get up there. Is there a public elevator somewhere? I have never been in the tower, so I am not sure where to look. Also, is there anything going on for memorial day? I am going to the Reds game on Sunday and want to wander around and sightsee on Monday, but I was concerned that with Monday being a holiday, some things may be shut down or something. Thanks.
May 22, 200619 yr Getting to the top of Carew is fantastic, and it's simple. You go over near the security desk (which is near the Vine Street entrance, diagonal across from Fountain Square), and there will be signs directing you to the elevators, or you can ask the security folks - they're always nice and helpful. You go up 45 floors, then follow the signs to another, smaller elevator, or walk up four flights of steps, then at the top you pay the attendant $2 and you're there. Very easy, and a wonderful, amazing view. I'd suggest contacting Carew Tower management to confirm that they'll have someone there working the observation deck on Memorial Day if that was your plan - I'd bet they will, but it doesn't hurt to call them to make sure. As for events, the Taste of Cincinnati is Memorial Day weekend: http://www.taste-of-cincinnati.com/ Given good weather, Central Parkway will be jammed with people between Plum and Main. Where are you staying during your trip?

May 23, 200619 yr "Taste of Cincinnati" is a must Saturday, Sunday or Monday. And like RiverViewer said, if nice weather, it will be the place to be. The Red's "Hall of Fame and Museum" will be closed on Monday but open on Sunday so go before or after the game. I personally think it is very well done. Next to the stadium and $5 with same-day game ticket. Carew Tower is great. They should be open. Carew Tower Fifth and Vine streets Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 (513) 579-3199 Have a good time.
