November 15, 200618 yr There were actually two. One on the Vine Street side which was Bond and one on the Race Street side which I think was JC Penny's but don't quote me on that. Confirmation is in "Cincinnati Observed" which is at home. I'll check tonight.
November 16, 200618 yr we do have images on the main page of UO you know? and yes, that is it. NE Ohio > Mansfield > http://www.urbanohio.com/thepope/BAH/Mansfield/Mansfield0027.JPG Unforunately, the Richland County Courthouse is currently being expanded in the same "60s savings and loan moderne" style -- with a new county jail building. Here's an architect's rendering from the County website.. Thomas/presOhio

November 16, 200618 yr bond's is the old cleveland-based men's store. they were a mid-century staple of downtowns. the biggie bond's building in times square in manhattan was best known as the place 'the clash' played a long stand in the early 80's, but today its a big restaurant called bond45. cleveland tore down its kinda groovy old bond shop, too bad: hmm, even given the other city hall contender pics, i still think middletown is the clear winner here. heh.
