Posted May 26, 200619 yr Hey Cincinnatians, I'm coming to town this weekend and want to visit Price Hill, but I don't know how to get there! Anyone know the best route from Silverton? Thanks for the help!
May 26, 200619 yr If you are looking to visit a park like Mt Echo (in Price Hill), you take 71 to downtown and then take US 50 (Sixth Street Expressway) to Elberon Ave. Mt Echo will be on the right. An alternate route to Eighth Street is taking the Warsaw Avenue exit from US 50, which will bring you all through Price Hill. Eventually Warsaw will hit Glenway, and you will be able to see such Price Hill Institutions as Elder, Seton, and Price Hill Chili. Go even farther on Glenway to Boudniot Rd and you can find the site of the first LaRosa's Pizza.
May 26, 200619 yr Yeah, it really depends on where you want to go. You could take Glenway, Warsaw, or Elberon. Glenway will require you to drive through Lower Price Hill, though, and there are stop lights. Warsaw and Elberon are a straight shot, as TraderJake explained. You could even get off at the Western Hills Viaduct and take Queen City up to Quebec or Grand, but those are kind of back ways in and not very useful if you're not familiar with the area. I recommend what TraderJake said.
May 28, 200619 yr Well I went to Price Hill but didn't end up getting chili... Alas we had already eaten lunch up at Mt. Adams. I had a hard time finding the nicer parts of Price Hill, a lot of it seemed a bit run down. Is that just the vibe of the area or are there parts maybe I missed? On a side note, I went to Mariemont for the first time today... and it was by far one of the coolest hoods I've seen in Ohio. If anyone hasn't seen it... go see it!
May 29, 200619 yr West Price Hill...or "Covedale" is a lot nicer. People say East Price Hill is on a decline but I've always known it to be like that in the 8 years I've lived here. There's a street in Price Hill that has new development going on right at the edge of the hill and you can see the river/downtown/kentucky etc. It's really nice..maybe it's Grand Ave. I can't remember. Mariemont is a really nice town with a great square. unfortunately the few people I know there are extremely stuck-up and arrogant and I don't really like them so I never don't go there much but I like going to that Graeters in the square.
May 29, 200619 yr ^ Yep, it's Grand Ave. gold42, there are plenty of very nice parts of Price Hill where you can get a great home of not a lot of money. If you're unfamiliar with the neighborhood, it can be hard to find some of these places. As a general rule, like David said, West Price Hill is in better shape than East Price Hill. Many parts of East Price Hill are in serious decline. But there are really nice streets there too. Maybe I should put together a tour package....
