I've never tried posting an event-Parade The Circle in University Circle-in the calendar and it seems like there isn't a way to post one without simultaneously starting a new topic in one of the forums. I didn't want to clutter up the forums with topics that are already in discussion elsewhere. I just want to put it in the calendar and that's all. Is there a way to do it?

In those tabs just above the "Jump to" pull-down menu, there is a tab for "Link to Calendar".  Click on that and you should be able to add it to the calendar.

 

I think you will have to post info in the thread first, and then link to calendar from that post (since you're essentially modifying your post when you link it to the calendar).

 

Let me know if this doesn't work and one of us can add it to the calendar ourselves.

 

Well, kinda worked. It's on the calendar, but I had to start a new thread in "Social Hub" since I couldn't figure how to link the calendar to an existing post. Just another nonsensical post. Much like this one. It's a vicious circle.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure how that all works, since I haven't ever tried to link to the calendar from anyone else's account.  I only know how it works for me.

 

I tried it in threads that others have started and it doesn't seem to let me link to the calendar the same way.

 

Don't worry about creating the duplicate thread, since it doesn't seem like there's any other way to do it.  I'll lock the thread in Social Hub so that it doesn't get any replies.  If you could supply the thread title or link to me either in this thread or via PM (the thread you originally tried to link from), I can put that in the Social Hub thread as well to direct traffic there.

 

There was never a thread that was wholly dedicated to "Parade the Circle". I only mentioned it in

Maybe that's the problem, since I didn't originate the thread. Anyhow, that thread probably should stay where its at, since it has to to with relocation and not exclusively something for the "social hub" but that's up to your better judgement.

I fixed the calendar, you no longer have to create a thread to post an event.
