Was in the brewery district today and snap a photo of one of the Hoster buildings. It has windows now and looks great.

  • Some updated drawings for the Jones Heel building redevelopment. I don’t think the original plans had the two buildings connecting? Im glad it’s still in the works, though. This could end up being a r

Honestly looks really good and will complement the nearby Jones Heel apartments pretty well. Just needs better screening for the garage. Either do murals or line the front side with lobby, amenities or retail.

Did it happen to list what materials they will be using? Obviously it’s brick, but what will the green be?

The green should be terra cotta

It also needs a cornice.

Wouldn't that be insanely expensive? I'd imagine it's paneling of some kind.

I think that'd be overkill, as there are architraves above each window line in the brick portion.

Overall I'm really liking the revisions made to the proposal. If the finished product ends up as presented, that would be a huge win for that portion of the neighborhood.

Looks like the Zimmer project on the Whittier peninsula will start soon. I was actually hoping this wouldn’t happen and the land would be sold.

New multi-use path along the Whittier Street Bridge continues to take shape...

Looked like the new lights on the bridge could be installed relatively soon

This is interesting, wonder if they will add some retail, or if it’s required for them to submit a new application. UCT stands for Urban Center and this zoning district allows for mixed-use development, including residential, commercial, and institutional uses, with a high density of mixed-use buildings and is one of several districts in the downtown area
