Posted June 5, 200619 yr Upper Arlington population: 33,836 named upper arlington because it is just a little bit up from Marble Cliff, which used to be called Arlington. an old suburb of columbus, with osu bordering on the east. jack nicklaus grew up here. really expensive, especially in the old areas. i took my bike and camera with me and wandered the streets this morning first, a look back at columbus and a soybean field now the houses downtown upper arlington. it does exist, don't let to many people talk about y'alls city like that... architect: howard dwight smith upper arlington is so purple back to sanity who has some velvet cake? i'm hungry the shops at lane avenue. would be ok if there wasn't a parking lot between it and lane avenue then i left, i headed towards grandview to get some cofee. i saw this and remembered there is a thread about it or something whatever hahahahahahahha

June 6, 200619 yr I used to live in Upper Arlington, near the Country Club. I lived just off of Coventry Road. The "nicest" area or Upper Arlington is south of Zollinger Road. But the nicest homes are by the Country Club and off of Tremont Road, Cambridge Blvd., Arlington Ave., Fairfax Road, and Lane Ave. Jim Tressel lives on Tremont Road I believe. But overall, very nice pictures of one of Columbus original and in my opinon, nicest suburbs.
June 6, 200619 yr Great pictures. Upper Arlington reminds me of North Shaker Heights and South Cleveland Heights without sidewalks. I like old neighborhoods like that beautiful homes covered with mature leafy trees.
June 6, 200619 yr nice work. when i met my spouse we first lived for a few years on elmwood near 5th in columbus in the last apt building in the city limits, the house next door was ua. it was and i bet still is a pretty cool post-college nabe, the other people in our nice brick quad apt building (that is typical around there) were all writers for 'the other paper' weekly rag, so we would all sit around outside every night in the common backyard and i got to hear all the local and ohio political dirt. 5th and grandview are nice urbanish/useful walking around areas, but we when we would walk around ua we would just gawk at the houses.
June 7, 200619 yr Uppity Arlington has more character than a lot of suburbs -- especially in the old downtown and near the old high school. Architect Howard Dwight Smith also did the 'Shoe. And a whole bunch of Columbus schools in the teens and twenties.
