In celebration of Dayton sinking below Youngstown in some recent labor market stats, i proffer the return of Drexel Dave's Photo's From the Streets of Dayton USA

Old Drexel Dave has some new pix on his photoblog.  Have a look-see (sample follows)....

sheesh what can ya say jeff? every town has it's crank.

i kind of admire his photo verite verve, except i wonder how often he gets punched in the nose.....thus making it harder for all us nice guys when we're all out taking our pics?

^

He is more of an eccentric than a crank.  I am probably the crank (taking pictures of parking lots and empty fieds then positng and telling you what used to be there or what was planned there is pretty cranky in my book).

I took one of those online personality tests and scored a perfect 100 on the introversion scale, so I admire Drexel Dave taking pix of some pretty scary characters. About the only time you will see people pix from me are in crowd settings, and then its mostly their backs.

I also like that he is actually running a website or blog with a Dayton theme..that he actually gives a damn enough to do that.

Aside from the blogs run by the DDN reporters at the paper's website there isn't much online on Dayton as a city or urban environment or urban culture or whatever...nothing like "Chicago Neighborhoods", "Gapers Block", "Curbed", "Cool Cleveland",or siimilar sites on other cities.

So respect is owed to Drexel Dave for at least "doing something" with Dayton as a subject...and sharing it online.

I figured Drexel Dave had something to do with movies, or at least Bexley.  :?
