Hello - wanted all to know that we're holding the annual SkyscraperPage PITTSBURGH forumers meet ("Allegheny Lovin' 2006") on Saturday, July 8, and you're all more than welcomed to come!

We're meeting at noon in Mellon Square Park, downtown Pittsburgh.  We'll begin by conquering the Golden Triangle, then circle around through various neighborhoods (Bloomfield, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Oakland, South Side, Mt. Washington).  Click here for the external SSP page for maps, more information, etc.

Hopefully see yinz then!

Hmmm...sounds good to me.

But its Pittsburgh!  :shoot: :behind:

Where love is concerned, there are no state borders.  Heh heh.

teh poop is still thinking about making it, we'll see what happens

I too might be able to attend......we'll see how finances hold up.  This silly thing called money is what prevented me from attending the All Ohio Meet in Cbus.  I'll see what I can do to make it.....never been to Pitt, but I definately what to see it for myself!

I just made my hotel reservation (Comfort Inn & Suites, Dormont). Looks like it's on a bus route and within walking distance of the T.

I should be able to make it!

Hey, that's great guys!  Let us need if you need any sort of directions or help.

I recall that in the past, at least one forumer had an encounter with transit cops for taking photos at a T station. Does anyone know what PAT official policy is on photography?

Yes, I think that was Volguus when he was taking pics in the T.  And the rent-a-cops at PPG Place were unpleasant to us.  Whatever, together we can squash them like little bugs!

I got a new summer job and I have to work Saturday so I will not be able to make it to the meet unfortunately. :-(

No prob re: those who can't attend.  For those coming, it's supposed to be sunny and 82!  :)  Click on that SSP link above if you need a map of where we're meeting.  See yinz tomorrow!

oh, this is today? whoops, i can barely move my head

Not a problem - you snooze, you looze.  Look out for rob_1412's and Evergrey's photos... we hit over 20 neighborhoods.

Who came?

Tsk tsk, on all of you.  J/K, it was only the 4 of us -  me, step2me, rob_1412, and evergrey.  Which was just fine, we covered more area than we ever could with a large group, and saw and photographed views and hidden-away hoods most have never, ever seen (God bless step2me).

From what I can remember .... Golden Triangle, McKees Rocks, Troy Hill, West End, Chateau, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Point Breeze, Oakland, South Side, South Side Slopes, Allegheny West, Mexican War Streets, North Shore, Greenfield, Hill District, and a few more in between.  Rob & Bob's photos will appear soon I'm sure; I'm saving mine to include with a couple other shots I want to get this summer.
