The Jackets first road win is a nice rebound from the home shootout loss earlier this week. (3-2-1)

blue jackets above 500 after two weeks? that's unpossible!

Columbus Blue Jackets Game Wrap-Up from last night.  Good win - lots of scoring.  Jackets now at 4-3 after losing their previous game.

Jackets win two in a row to advance to 5-3.  Like the pope sez "unpossible".  They sure are getting our hopes up with the way Nash and Leclaire are playing.

WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!

I, for one, have BJ fever.

I am also pleased with the performance of our professional hockey team.

I, for one, have BJ fever.

the fact that this post went uncommented on for 8 hours truly shows how much people care about BJs.

And considering the male-to-female ratio here, such a lapse is unconscionable.

Amusing Other Paper article about Rick Nash - who is on the cover page as the annual Halloween cut-out face.

Columbus Blue Jackets win a road game against the L.A. Kings and advance to 7-3.  Can this be the Blue Jackets we've come to have such low expectations for?

Columbus Blue Jackets picked up a point with a hard fought regulation tie at the Anaheim Ducks.  Ducks won in the shootout.  Good tie for the Jackets since this was the second of their back-to-back West Coast road games.

at least chicago is still the pushover of the central division.......

Blue Jackets net another win at Nationwide Arena on Sunday.  The Blue Jackets are off to their best start in franchise history at 8-3-2.

Seriously rider: thanks for keeping us updated and this very good news. Oh, and...

GO BJs!

The Blue Jackets finish up the last of three straight road games with an overtime shootout loss at Nashville.  The Jackets dropped two games earlier in the week at Chicago and at Detroit.  Let's see how the Jackets at home after surviving this tough stretch of games.

And maybe the Jackets can practice shootout goal scoring.  The shootout loss to Nashville makes the Jackets 0-3 in shootouts this year.

One month into the season and the Blue Jackets are needing a second wind.  Let's hope for better play later this week.

YAY!  They won tonight! 4-2!  BJ's all the way!

Looks like it was a wild game last night!  See Michael Arace's commentary below . . .

Michael Arace commentary: Nash uses fists to show his heart

Since I don't have cable and no radio station carries the games in Cincinnati, I listened to the game on the internet.  Nash is a stud.

The Blue Jackets are hitting a rough patch now.  A regulation loss and a shootout loss to the Red Wings have taken them off the playoff pace.  At the very least, the Jackets are playing much better than the previous years.

i'm sorry, "playoff pace"? Its not even March yet.

Point well taken pope.  Its just that for many previous seasons the Jackets poor starts had virtually eliminated them from playoff hopes by December.  That's what I meant by "playoff pace".  GO BJ's?

ha, I can totally see it from your perspective given the BJ's Short and Bad history.

December will be telling month for Jackets

11 home games afford chance to make move

Monday,  December 3, 2007 - 3:02 AM

By Aaron Portzline, THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

CALGARY, Alberta -- Rarely will athletes or coaches make such bold pronouncements, especially only a third of the way into a season.  But the Blue Jackets weren't shy about what the month of December will mean to their playoff chances.  "It's a very, very absolutely critical month for us, and every single guy in this room is aware of that," center Dan Fritsche said.

The Blue Jackets play 11 of their 13 remaining games this month in Nationwide Arena, beginning at 7 tonight against the Dallas Stars.  It's the first of five consecutive home games.  They also will play four in a row later in the month.  The road games are one-night jaunts, to Boston and Nashville.

The Blue Jackets were 10th in the Western Conference heading into last night's games, but that's a bit deceiving.  An optimist would say the Jackets are one win (two points) out of fifth place.  A pessimist would say they're only seven points out of last place.  A realist would say December will answer a lot of questions.  Of the next 13 games, nine are against teams that have winning records.

What a fun game to watch between these two teams ... too bad about the loss though.

Awesome win tonight over the Colorado Avalanche.  The Blue Jackets shoot the cannon four times with a 4-1 victory.  The last goal being an empty net shot from Federov.

rider, do you usually go to the games? I like to watch them occasionally on Fox Ohio, but I've never been to a BJ game.

Can you tell me where to get the best ticket prices? I'm thinking about going to a game soon.

seriously, how the f- are the Blues not in the cellar with the blackhawks?

I got to see a period of the aves game, which is unusual since I don't have cable.  I was impressed with how the BJs played.  They seem much faster and have a sense of attack that wasn't there in the past.  In past years they seems to be holding off the loss as opposed to reaching for a win.  It's exciting.

Used to be able to go to around 4 or 5 games every season.  Family commitments have prevented me from going the past few years though.  The games are great to watch on Fox Ohio.  But if you get a chance to see a BJ game, go.  It's worth it.  Hockey's more fun in person and the Nationwide Arena and surrounding Arena District are top notch.

I always got my tickets from bluejackets.com, ticketmaster or at the box office so I can't help with lowest ticket price sources.  Maybe someone else has gotten tickets from other sources.  However, if you're really adventureous, there's always the ticket scalpers outside the arena.

Blue Jackets 4, Oilers 2: Hat trick caps 2007

Nash's three goals send Jackets into new year on high note

Trying on a new attitude

by Ross McKeon, Yahoo! Sports

January 6, 2008

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Ask Ken Hitchcock about the possibilities for his Columbus Blue Jackets and his eyes sparkle. That alone should give the only NHL team yet to reach the Stanley Cup playoffs rejuvenated hope.  Fans in Ohio's capital have been patient, but that sentiment had begun to wear thin, and for good reason. The Blue Jackets entered the league along with Minnesota in 2000, the last of nine expansion teams added since 1991.

espn sportscenter was going bonkers about nash's end to end goal. they said in a newsroom pol it was easily the most exciting goal of the year.

The Blue Jackets one goal in Chicago nets two points in the standings.  They head into the All-Star break only one point from making the playoffs in the Western Conference.  Let's see if they can finish the deal in the second half of the season.  Go BJ's!
