Posted June 25, 200618 yr Well I finally completed my post processing of 205 photos taken from the "2006 Urban Ohio Cincinnati City Tour" with 90 photos making the final cut. It was great to see some friendly faces along with some new ones. As usual Cincy-Rise was fashionably late and this years tour even included a resident stalker. I believe 22 people at peak turnout showed up to some amazing weather, good food and good company in a great city. All the photos in this gallery were taken on the same day (May 20th, 2006). Some of the Urban Ohio members might not recognize some of the photo ops as I got around before and after the meet. I want to thank everyone for coming out and waiting patiently for my photo thread. June 25, 200618 yr Very nice! I like your shots from the top of the Polk (Park Place) building. What's the optical zoom on that camera of yours?
June 25, 200618 yr sharp work -- looks like you caught most of the highlights. i cannot believe how totally torn up the fountain square area is, it will be interesting to see it completed/revamped.
June 25, 200618 yr AWESOME!!!! I am really liking this site., EXCELLENT! On a personal note-I used to work at Clifton Skyline (also 7th street, and perhaps a few of you can still recall the 5th street location-sadly gone now-sigh).I also worked at the Cincinnatian, many moons ago when it was a seedy indigent hotel.I was right out of high school and my job was running this rickety old elevator. It was cool. But the best part, I know you guys will appreciate this, was the old folks fondly recalling the glory days, and how this place was a dump (it really was),and how I should have seen the Sinton Hotel and the Gibson and on and on -it was so interesting.Anyway, Great job and thanks for the "Cin city" shot. You know who put the cin in Cincinnati baby -that would be me -heck yeah!
June 25, 200618 yr Very nicely done! I love how you set up the colorful shots with a set of B&W's...like a couple inside to set up the sinker down and away! Hey, maybe we could put you in the bullpen!
June 26, 200618 yr Pretty fucking sweet. You got some great street life shots in there. And the colors were beautiful. Is there anything prettier than Cincinnati in the springtime?
June 26, 200618 yr Wowowowow. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
June 26, 200618 yr definitive - so worth the wait. those candid shots - sweet. That fellow on the pay phone! - i think the west siders would say youse got a great eye. Thanks
June 26, 200618 yr We sure did miss out on some of your early photo opps. I'm guessing many of those shots are from St. Xavier Place....seems like a good vantage point!
June 27, 200618 yr I would say photos like these are worth the wait - amazing. The clarity and colors are unbelievable, and you definitely have a knack for capturing a street scene.
June 27, 200618 yr and this years tour even included a resident stalker. Just caught this, who might you be referring to? Was Magyar following you guys?
June 27, 200618 yr and this years tour even included a resident stalker. Just caught this, who might you be referring to? Was Magyar following you guys? Yeah, like I can control security cameras 900 miles away. Don't go Karl Rove on us. YOU'RE the one who took photos of fellow memebers, behind their back, unannounced, and didn't say anything till others started showing their photographs on here. :shoot: Me, on the other hand, when going to a Midwest city (not in Ohio) mention it beforehand, end up orchestrating a mini-meet in city, which means I talk to them up front, actually meet them - face to face, and talk to them. See the difference. Plus, two moderators for this site stated that group photos will no longer be taken at these meets because of YOUR stalker act in Cincy. That's no good either. :whip: So go work on your social skills, for the sake of UrbanOhio and all of humanity in the tri-state area.

Obviously I know he was referring to my pic of the group. Like I've said before, I didn't have time to visit the Cincy meet, but being in the SAME building for a conference that day, I thought I'd run down and take a look at the group. Then, unplanned, I decided to snap a pic, just because I thought someone might get a kick that I was around. I was literally only there for 30 seconds or something. You have to realize that the thought never entered my mind that doing such was stalkerish or disturbing, because I know it was just an innocent act. I'd be a pretty bad stalker if I openly admitted to grabbing a pic of the group. As I write this, I can understand how one might interrupt this as such, and all you have against it is my word, which is certainly no good with you Magyar, as you have made it clear several times that you honestly hate me. I was expecting a laugh, and instead I'm made out to be a sicko. But where do we move from this?
June 27, 200618 yr yours and grasscats pictures just make me realize how much potential this city has. It truly is SO unique to the midwest. This is why the census numbers make it that more depressing. Anytime someone or something isnt living up to potential, it hurts a little more. aaahhhh.
