Posted June 27, 200618 yr I saw that 928 Windsor went up for sale, asking $175K, and started looking more at the street. First, here's a map of the area: The more I looked at the street, the more intrigued I became. First, across the street is Windsor Elementary (image from CPS): ...which is scheduled to be decommissioned - the kids will be going to Fredrick Douglass up at Taft and Park. Given all the condo development south of Nassau and along Gilbert, as well as the Schoolhouse Lofts on Victory, I'd think CPS will be wanting to sell that to a developer to refit as residential. Then starting with the house nearest Gilbert, 912 - this is the only house that's really out of character for the street: 912 918: 924: 926: 928: 930: 932: 934: 936: 942 (did someone park a trailer home on top of the porch?): 946: What kick-ass housing stock! All of a piece, two-story, with a porch, same rooflines...need to get rid of the trailer parked on 942's porch, and to drop a few trees in front of 926 and 930, but what a great street. And here's the thing - half the street's for sale. 912, asking $99K ("Sellers will consider any reasonable offer") 926, asking $130K 928, asking $175K 934, asking $92K 942, asking $74K If you look back through the pictures, I bolded the address on the places for sale. Five of the ten houses are for sale, and the future of the entire south side of the street is up in the air. What an opportunity...this is in the heart of that section of Walnut Hills between McMillan, Gilbert, Nassau and Victory - it could really solidify the whole neighborhood. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this street, and will update in this thread...and if anyone's interested in rehabs, or in buying low on what's hopefully an up-and-coming street in the city, here's a great chance!
