That's just one of the philosophies behind the continued success of Middle Earth Developers Inc., said Jay Voss, the firm's co-founder and a principal partner.

 

The Camp Washington-based firm has built its reputation by transforming Cincinnati's lingering relics into some of the city's most unique urban living spaces.

 

"You've got to know your niche, and I think we really know how to do edgy, urban residential development," Voss said. "There's nothing better than finding a cool, old building and being able to breathe new life into it."

Condo owners sue Middle Earth Developers over ‘depths of hell’ garage

Condo owners at the Lofts at Graydon Place downtown are feeling cramped. Not in their living quarters, but in the parking garage.

 

They think the underground garage in the 104-year-old building isn’t big enough for 43 parking spaces. That’s how many Middle Earth Developers Inc. marked off and assigned in 2007, almost three years after buyers began moving in.

 

Now owners of 25 units have filed a lawsuit in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court claiming some spaces aren’t accessible and many aren’t big enough to park in if adjacent spaces are occupied. It wants the court to stop Middle Earth from selling two spaces with the last unsold condo unit.

Jay Voss, a Middle Earth founding principal who was also named as an individual defendant in the lawsuit, left the company about six months ago, Kukla said.

 

I had heard Jay Voss left Middle Earth.  That news cannot be good for the Enquirer building.

Wow, I'm sad to see that the Graydon owners are still dealing with that garage.

I seriously looked at renting a MED unit last year, but just stumbled upon this thread. I'm glad now I didn't, because one of the units I was looking at was in a development that's been affected by their shoddy and cheap construction.

 

Are there any updates to MED properties since 2006?

I've been in the garage, and it is how they described it in the article.  Very tight to get in, and it does look like they made the spots smaller to get more of them in the garage.
