Nation Kitchen opens Downtown/The Banks. And looking at pics on instagram the space looks great. Very nice addition with the MGM Sportsbook-Bar

https://www.wcpo.com/nation-kitchen-and-bar-the-banks-bet-mgm-sportsbook

I'd bet the space was built out by the sportsbook. I doubt Nation doesn't has that kind of money for those kinds of improvements. Don't get me wrong, Hickory Wald Group has done some nice spaces, but these kinds of buildouts like at The Banks are on a totally different cost level.

Unfortunate that there is no plan for the former Nation in Pendleton (per the CBC):

Razzo, Hart & Cru, Pendleton Parlor, and Urbana seem to do really well. Having another bar or restaurant in the former Nation space would really help establish that pedestrianized block of Broadway as a nice NBD.

You forgot Lucius Q which also does well at that corner.  Razzo went into the previous Boomtown spot pretty quickly.  I bet if the Nation group doesn't want to open something else there someone else will.

Upscale American restaurant Court Street Kitchen announces grand opening date downtown

There can only be so many hotels. The County employees staying downtown doesn't prevent us from getting the maximum number of hotel rooms we can support.

And city income taxes would take a big hit if they moved their offices outside of city limits.

Yeah in now way do we want the county to move employees out of downtown.  That would be terrible for all other businesses there.  Best case is they consolidate into a new building they construct and their current buildings are converted to residential or hotel.  Probably more likely they downsize and consolidate into existing building(s).

Precisely. The iconic Times-Star and historic Alms Doepke buildings could have higher and better uses than their current use as county offices whether that be hotels, condos, apartments, ground floor retail or some mix of those. I do think the Alms Doepke would be a great mixed use project due to its location and size. Hotel, housing, retail.

I hope the county gets creative but I'm not holding my breath.

Moonflower Coffee Collective opens in Sharonville's former Adesso space

A new coffee shop is now open in Sharonville.

Moonflower Coffee Collective is located at 10938 Reading Road in the former Adesso Coffee space.

Owner Stephanie Berry said the business incorporates her two passions: vintage collectables and coffee.

“I’ve tried to recreate this feeling that I had growing up sitting around one of my grandmother’s tables,” Berry told me.

It's really great that they tore down a historic mansion that had a longtime bar/restaurant in it and replaced it with a particle board apartment building full of trust funders where no restaurant has yet survived.  Meanwhile, U Square is half vacant.  Nothing in the Keystone or St. Clair space, or Pieology, or probably a few more.

Something weird about this. Looks like they had a bunch of health code violations back in November.
