While obviously not cheering on someone passing away since I'm not an a-hole, I am happy he's no longer a part of the city's restaurant industry. Jimmy was completely unhinged as a person. Extremely rude to his customers, racist, homophobic, etc.

I had a friend who worked at one of his restaurants and went to visit and grab dinner. For some reason Jimmy assumed I was sleeping with said friend and that I was there for a free meal. He then made use of several homophobic slurs while telling me to mooch of someone else's business. This was while I was pulling out my wallet to pay...

Dude was a jackass and the restaurant world has honestly been better off since his places all closed down. He set a horrible tone towards people who came from out of town and made the unfortunate choice of eating in his places. He'd walk around shouting profanities, yelling at customers who weren't happy with their food, telling off his employees etc. Not a good look for Cincinnati.

Looks like the franchisee hasn't selected a location yet: "She's looking at potential locations downtown and in Hyde Park, as well as the Rookwood Commons and Pavilion developments or near her Gyu-Kaku restaurant in Kenwood. She said she wants to be in an area frequented by professionals and young people."

Interesting. I hope she’s careful about location, this really isn’t a shopping plaza kind of place in my opinion so I definitely wouldn’t do rookwood. This place needs foot traffic from professionals and hotels so I hope she does downtown.

They have a ton of locations in the South Bay Area / Silicon Valley and almost all are in suburban strip malls. I think USquare would be a great location but I have a feeling they are going to select Rookwood or Kenwood.

Maybe it’s because I was introduced to them in bustling NYC, that could be why I can only picture this concept in an urban center. They may do fine in strip malls in Silicon Valley but I get a very bad feeling about selecting Rookwood for this. Kenwood would maybe be ok if it’s inside the mall itself otherwise it’s a no for me. Usquare is also a no for me because this place is not geared for the college crowd which is probably why in the article she mentions professionals too and not just young people. It’s definitely on the more pricey side for grab and go bakery/cafe’s. I’m actually surprised Cincinnati is getting one, most if not all are located in or nearby major metro areas much larger than Cincinnati.

Dutch's reopens this week in Hyde Park; take a look inside

After being closed for more than a year, the new owner of beloved Hyde Park staple Dutch's is ready to show it off to the public.

Dutch's, at 3378 Erie Ave., will host its grand opening July 30.

Dutch's opened as a pony keg – a shop for purchasing beer to-go – in 1947. It was most recently purchased by Jay Ashmore in 2007, who expanded it into the neighboring building to open a bar in 2010. It was again expanded into Dutch's Larder, offering upscale meats and high-quality charcuterie, in 2012.
