What is your oppinion on Ohio's most dangerous city between Cleveland, Cincy, Columbus, Toledo & Dayton? Not downtown wise, neighborhood wise...

I chose Cleveland (Especially the East-Side) and I'm proud of that because the east side of the land made me who I am today believe it or not. People say if your from the east side of the city you won't make it in life. I made it. I went from doing bad things on the Glenville streets to a CSU graduate. I'm proud of where I came from and represent it well. I also have to say we are the most gangsta city in Ohio to haha if any of you are into hip-hop music. Alot of rappers come from here past & present. Appreciate them representing our city nationally on MTV, BET, etc. Glenville a.k.a. G-Ville a.k.a. Gangstaville 4 Life... I'm very interested in other peoples oppinions on this though.

West Dayton is just as bad as East Cleveland, but no one (and I mean NO ONE) can touch Over-the-Rhine for "dangerous" neighborhood in this state.  That is in a whole new "league" of ghetto.  But of course, the West Dayton, the parts of Youngstowns, the East Cleveland/Glenville/Kingsmans, and east Columbuses are bad too.  But oy vey at the basin...

Yeah...Ray Cash...

Haha yeah good looking out. He was the one to start it all since Bone Thugs. I'm curious, how did you hear about him or where did you hear about him?

Ray Cash?  I'm a hip hop head.  I know these things...since I'm just bumpin my music...with Hi-Tek.

OTR is the crunkest hood by far but Dayton wins overall. Columbus...you could go to a neighborhood festival in whitehall and get shot at. I went to Independence H.S. and it was nothing but bloods and crips. Don't know much about Cleveland, but I know the east side is pretty crazy.

That's what's up. Does Ray get airwaves on Columbus' local hiphop radio station?

Not really.  Like a couple months back but not now.  Niggas here don't even support DipSet or Bow Wow or Chubby Baby or something.

BTW, I am from West Dayton and you best believe I represent it too.

Does Bow wow and dipset support Columbus? I thought Bow wow moved to Atlanta right after he got famous and Cam'ron is from Harlem.

Some DipSet are from Columbus and they support it more than Bow Wow.

Wow, Bow Wow is a huge artist right now and being from there they should show love even though some are upset he moved to Atlanta and starting reppin them to.

Some niggaz tryin to jack this rap capones mission.

Tupac always said "Neva leave out with out that steel"

I left it in the kitchen like a dumby

Picked up the phone called shoestring

"Ay some niggaz followin me can i come by ya house"

Yeah it's the "moved to Atlanta" thing. About Dipset, they are all from Harlem, No one is from C-bus. The reason why they are famous there is because Camron has a restaurant or nightclub or something there and they just fell in love with the state overall. He definetaly reps Columbus like he's from there unlike Bow Wow...

Actaully, Chubby Baby is from Columbus and Cam'ron's parents are originally from Columbus.  Thus, the "Columbus love."

I didn't know that. I was wondering why Cam would own a place out here...

I've heard Bow wow say Columbus in one of his songs, and say something about Easthaven but that's about it. Bow wow is a sellout. I think Cam'ron's club was called "Club Envy".

Quick note... Cleveland is the music city of Ohio rap wise. Shouts to Ray Cash, 216, Fat AL and all the mixtape famous DJs up here (Mick Boogie & Joey Fingaz a.k.a. the Leauge Crew). The legendary Scarface (The Rapper) said Cleveland is the next city in Hip-Hop... He's the featured one on the Ray Cash track "Bumpin My Music". No city in Ohio more gangsta then us. Respect to every other hood in the OH10 though...

Uhh...they said the same thing (Bun B and them) when Czar*Nok came out last year about Cincinnati being the next hip hop city.  Then BET putting Columbus as "the next hip hop city" and such.  Generally, all Three C's have good chances at being the next hip hop city.  All three have head starts (though I do have to shout out Hi-Tek and that new album coming).

WTF is this thread???

Another one of those black threads.  Ewww.

Yeah Czar-Nok didnt get as much support and promotion as Ray Cash did. I never saw any ads in mags or on TV about them and Ray had all of those. Critics said Czar Nok just rapped about drugs, girls, etc. where Ray was more serious about his work. Rays the lyrically gifted one. He's also been featured on music TV programs. I love both of them though. Hi-Tek is def the best DJ and producer in the state... The three big C's doin it real big!

The nastiest white area in Ohio is the Rt. 13 corridor.  Chauncey and Glouster are two incredibly lawless places, sources countless Jerry Springer guests.  Local law enforcement is outrageously corrupt, meth grows on trees, and 14 year-old mothers work the corners.  Now imagine a whole state full of those towns and that's more or less what Mississippi is.

My favorite Chauncey resident lived in a camper next to his dad's trailer, and by his own admission got high listening to Black Sabbath every night still at age 45.  I also witnessed him one morning eat raw bloody chicken from the cooler in the back of Kentucky Fried Chicken and walk around for a bit with a piece in his beard.

No doubt that Czar*Nok was worse than Ray Cash (though to be honest, when I first heard Ray Cash, he sounded like he was from Atlanta or Houston).  But I support all my Ohio hip hop artists.

Yup same here. We need a Ohio Anthem with ray and czar nok and other signed artists...

Haha true... I have to go there sometime when I go back to the Nati. I don't know where it is though. Madisonville is crazy though...

I'll tour ya when ya come.  As long as you tour me Glenville some more...

I can do that... Ive heard alot of stuff about Dayton getting better and better as years go by. True story?

Yeah, it's getting better but still, there are parts that make Glenville look like Coventry, if you catch my drift (talking DeSoto).

Whos this rapper and where he from?

Ugh, take it somewhere else.

Yeah Cleveland is actually getting worse. Glenville actually isnt CLE's most gritty neighborhood. Fairfax and St.Clair-Superior are really bad. Glenville is the more crime filled hood and the others are the real ghetto ones...

The city of East Cleveland is probaly badder then parts of the land to. EC is like Flint & Gary just not as big...

Most Dangerous Ohio City

Do we even need to ask? Cleveland is constantly ranked one of the most dangerous cities in the country and always the most dangerous in Ohio. But I always found it funny that one of its largest suburbs (Parma) is consistently ranked one of America's safest.

I have to give OTR the worst neighborhood nod... but Cleveland wins out for overall most dangerous city.  It almost seems like you are proud of this fact, I don't quite understand that.

LMAO Ruby Tuesday comment...

East Cleveland gets my vote. Too many foreclosures/abandoned buildings/boarded up houses allows for prostitution, drugs, and all that other stuff to take place off the streets. A small and corrupted police force/city hall doesn't exactly help either.

As for Cleveland, all along and around E. 105th between St. Clair and Superior is bad news, as is Garden Valley, the "Forgotten Triangle" that encompasses it, and of course Hough in the high E. 80's. Also, the city of Lorain (not the street, but the actual city) is very dangerous for its size.

You've tempted me to visit these 2 cities that I previously never even heard of! It sounds like the quality of life is extremely low? Tell us more about these 2 cities, please!

" It almost seems like you are proud of this fact, I don't quite understand that."

It goes along the line of thinking that "adversity builds character". I certainly agree that it does, but you certainly don't see me relishing my working-class Appalachian roots, or the fact that I've eaten government cheese.

Folks, you can feel free to discuss crime stats, hip-hop scenes or whatever - I don't care if you're black, white, latino, asian, or martian: I will not tolerate any further use of the N word. I don't care if you're quoting a song or if you're using the term in a sense of camaraderie - I don't want to see it any more. I expect better of everyone here, and using terms like that can make this site "unsafe" for those at work.

This is NOT a subject for debate or discussion.

I return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

what about jigga?

just kidding, good idea mayday.

what are your sources?? compared to Florida cites, Cleveland is nothing in comparison crime wise. It has been a few years since I looked at crime stats, but at the time 2002, Cleveland was not nearly as bad as many other cities its size, and better than a lot of smaller cities.

Those crime stats change drastically every single year. The only thing certain is Detroit, Camden, StL, and Atl consistently being near the top of the list.

I hope so. It's no fun living in the 12th most dangerous city in the country. However, I'm sure that Cleveland is still the most dangerous in the state.
