Great tour! Thanks.

I bet it was ridiculously hot when you were there.

Have you ever been to the Varsity?

Yes, I went to the Varsity years ago.  It wasn't all that, to be honest.

Wow, great shots Chris!

Nice shots, I like the one from the neighborhood overlooking the distant city particularily.

You are the king:

Yes, indeed and truly, you are the king:

Nice pics.  To me that City is forgettable and unpleasant.

I understand that Atlantic Station is not downtown, and that there are slight differences….But, when we had the banks discussion everyone was completely turned off by this development…but how can you say that THIS^ is not what the banks is pretty much going to look like.…Atlantic station has three different parts to it (we only want the dense one, of course)….THIS^ seems like what I expect/want for the banks. All I would add is connectivity to surrounding areas....I think we lost a good developer when we lost this developer...

Great shots!

The city looks interesting. The Interstate traffic looks intimidating.

dayton on steriods.

great shots as always tho & hope you had a nice visit with the whole fam.

I dont know how you could say that you would want this over the original renderings for the Banks.  It is nowhere comparable....this is the good part of AS and this still comes across as institutional/big box.  I would hope that the Banks would not turn out this way.  The only good comparison between the two is that Atlanta knows how to handle cars (see 24 lane highway) and they worked out the parking situation quite well.

My favorite moniker for Atlanta: "L.A. in the woods."

Least favorite: "Hotlanta."

Draw: "Mylanta."

Sweet pics. Atlanta looks to be heading vertical quite nicely. But her highways need work: only 7 lanes in each direction? You can do better than that...

Yes and they actually have a quite extensive light rail system to top it off! Did you hear about the proposed 21 lanes in Cobb county to Alleviate traffic congestion?

^Hearing a sprawl city has sold rail to its voters makes me simultaneously happy and pissed. This feeling will go switch to all happy the moment COTA (and MDOT) comes to its freaking senses.

Excellent photos, looks like you had a good time in Atlanta.

Awesome as always..

It's warm there :(.

I thought marta was heavy rail.  and I think it is only two lines that look like this: +

That shot of the skyline from the distance is amazing Chris.  Really, all those photos are great.  Thanks for ressurecting this thread, otherwise I wouldn't have seen it.

Atlanta is alright.  I've always appreciated it for it's culture, but the two times I've been there, the feeling of urbanity is pretty watered down.

Hilarious comments all around... especially Mylanta lol

This city is the physical manifestation of everything I hate in modern urban America... but nice shots, Chris!

But it has IKEA!!!

Which suburb is featured in that distant view of the city skyline from the hilltop? I've been to Atlanta a couple of times, including Buckhead, Dunwoody and Alpharetta, but I never found a view that good.

Marietta or Cobb County.

Off of Roswell Road, up a mountain subdivision in Cobb County.
