Inspired by this thread idea of Mr. Good Day's (in other words, idea stolen outright!), here's a thread for guessing where Cincinnati shots are taken from...rather than a big list, I thought I'd do a single photo, then let the winner pick the next one - kinda like the Google Aerial guessing game...

If this should live in some other board, please feel free to move it at will!

So entry #1:

Well, it does have a neat coffeeshop and jazz club/soul food joint...

Not in that actual building, though, right?

Of course not; I meant the neighborhood ;).

Indeed...East Walnut Hills, just south of DeSales Corner...it's the Krug building, across from Schulhoff on Woodburn...your turn!

Well, you just gave it away, didn't you?!  I like your idea of posting one at a time better...  I'm going to update my thread.

My turn?  I live 110 miles away!

I didn't go out special to take that shot - surely you've got one or two on your hard drive somewhere...

I don't LOL!!!

What you see on the site is what you get.  So if I posted a photo, all one would have to do is go to UrbanOhio's main page-->SW Ohio-->Cincinnati-->Neighborhoods-->Bitchslap ColDayMan.

^ How about you don't play if you can't provide a photo!  ;)

Hit us with another one, RV!

Alrighty, another one...completely different feel after all these hot/moist days...just gotta name the intersection!

Hmm...I have no idea.  And my attempts to find a number on the bus didn't pan out.

Well, it's on either the east or west side.......

I didn't want to make it too easy, but perhaps I erred on the side of too difficult...I'm sure everyone knows the intersection - it's on a bus route, after all, and it's a major bus route.  But this perspective isn't common, so I thought it might be a good mix.  But let me give another shot as a hint...same location, just from the first floor instead of the bedroom window...had to pick a poor picture so it blocked out any dead giveaways (like the road sign, for instance!)

Ludlow and whitfield in clifton? is that the bank on the corner??

Bing bing bing...we have a winner!

We lived in this house for two years, prior to the traffic light being installed:

UCPlanner, you're up!

I can't believe I didn't notice that it was Ludlow! Urrgghhh lol

ok

it was in between the east & west sides.

The 2nd pic of the Ludlow location was a dead give away.....I believe that exact photo is in another thread on here.  Memory/proximity certainly served UCplanner well.

I won't be able to do any picks for a while (company computer doesn't let me upload pics)...by the way..I knew it was ludlow after the first pick... If someone else want s to go this could be a fun little game, today...i will post a pic when i get home...how about you Rando you want to go next?

Hint: This is NOT Columbia Parkway:

^Price Hill area??

South side of Eastern Avenue in Columbia Tusculum, looking south toward the abandoned railroad ROW.

^Price Hill area??

Bottom of Warsaw Ave.  Close enough.

Rando, you're up!  Deal us one...

I'm looking for the street this is located on (where I took the pic from)....Brad you stay out of this one (conflict of interest)

Historic9thSt.jpg

9th street, downtown?  Can't rememeber if that or one block away.

Very pretty, wherever it's from!  Not for the poor brick, of course, but for us!

No idea, but very nice spot/shot/choice!

Parking lot to the west of Pat Korb's house, Ninth between Elm and Plum

BallHatGuy wins this one....although John Schneider your specificity was very pleasing, but the early bird gets the worm.

Have at it BallHatGuy..

Here's another one:

That's the last remaining section of the original Gilbert Avenue viaduct...which I learned from Cincinnati-Transit.net!

Correct, and that's where the photo is linked from too.

Ah, I guess one could have cheated with that...but honest, I just recognized the photo!

Well, BallHatGuy, I believe you're up!

Ok, this may be too easy . . .

(And sorry but I was in meetings.)

I feel like I should know that, but you've got me!

That's the scultpure located in Burnet Woods near MLK, right?

^Stones salvaged from the Chamber of Commerce building, by Richardson, built about 1890 and destroyed by fire about 1900. (Can't remember the exact dates.)

You are correct Wally.  And you too are basically correct as well Eigth & State.  The Chamber of Commerce was completed in January 1889 it was destroyed by fire in January 1911.  The sculpture was built in 1972 after a 1968 competition by UC architecture students.

Your turn Wally.

Ahh, I'm drawing a blank on a good picture to use, so if someone else wants to jump in that has a good one to post then feel free to.  If anything pops in my head this evening and no one has posted a new picture yet, then I'll try and post one.

How about this one?

Wow, this one is tough.  Steps to Burnet Woods Park Gazebo?

^No, sorry...

Can I make one more guess?  Steps from Elsinore to the Art Musuem?

Steps from the Elsinore Towers to the Art Museum, yes!  Beautiful set of stairs...they were closed at the time I took that picture (I was a law-breaker!), but they're open again now.  Wonderful, almost enchanting setting, under the canopy, but open spaces...just lovely.

You're up!

No cheating by looking at the street sign!

IMG_0003.jpg

Nice choice!  Brick street is a great clue, major hill action...someone should be able to figure it out...though that someone won't be me!  I'd guess Mt. Adams somewhere, but I couldn't guess the street...

Cool thread, I see a missed a few guesses while I was on vacation.
