I take it you've spent time in Great Britain to not be thrown off by the palm tree.

I lived in London for a while, but the house in the corner gave me a teeny tiny clue

The shopping is to die for.  I want to be buried in Harvey Nichols Department store.

Yeah, whenever I go to London, I'll actually need money to shop.  That being said, I guess I'll have to wait a couple more years until I graduate and get a real job :)

Here's one from earlier today when me and my friend were out taking pictures. I love the skyline from the west side.

DAVID!  Don't jump!  Step down for the ledge!

That's a very cool shot...

That street was so flooded a week or two ago when we had all that rain. You should have seen all the people stranded that were dumb enough to drive through a few feet of water.

Trump Tower Chicago, floor 51 (I think)...terrace for a condo I bought.  Just kidding, got a tour at work.

Naw, they are all wearing some sort of prism hats whatfer you can't see what their features.

Do you actually hate Aon, or does this harken back to Standard Oil/Bp Amoco?  I bet BP wishes it hadn't leased the building to Aon, they are now looking to bring the HQ back downtown from Naperville because they can't recruit talent way out there.  Fun Fact:  That entire building was re-clad in granite when the original marble started falling off due to the climate.

Sorry about the pixelation, I generally don't like to post pics of others without their consent.

On my tour of Toronto, I learned that BMO (Bank of Montreal for those of you not in the know), is going through the same problems. Okay, back to pictures!

Recladding, eh?  Like the pope's mom.

Kids, this is a perfect example of "old" people saying anything they want!

Don't listen to him. You might not like to hear what I have to say, but I know it's for your own good!

^^Yeah... MTS, I was thinking the same thing so don't just single out a group. :-P

Don't worry, Rob, I got your back. lol

That's a fantastic picture...that's one that will end up framed on your kids' mantlepieces in 30 or 40 years...

Hey I was walking through Italian Village with my friend the other day and noticed the finished product of the pocket park next to your house. Glad they ended up putting at least some playground equipment in for kids! I bet they were excited to try the new stuff out. I can't wait until my little nephew is old enough to play frisbee so I can take him to Goodale.

Yeah, we give the park a generous grade "B", generous considering that the playground lacks a) slides b) swings c) a traversable play structure, and d) benches that actually face the play area.

The park overall is more a study in decorative design than useful urban common space. The "great lawn" is struggling; the grading is bad, resulting in barren low spots. Plus the surface bakes when it's dry and is a spongy mess when it rains--drainage and drought issues they'd never have if they'd heeded my pleadings and kept the mature trees. At least the crab grass seems to be happy.  The bolted-down cafe tables are charming, save during the daylight hours when the north end patio is subjected to bone-bleaching direct sunlight. Extra ironic kudos to the skull-cracking marble edging along the flower beds along the eastern edge of the park--tens of thousands of tax dollars well-spent. Oh, and the 3 jillion candle-power streetlights that never shut off? Insomniatastic!

We make the best of it, though. That's what kids are best at. We plan to invade the park for the kids' birthday party in September. There will be a 100% chance of piñatas.

This past weekend was nice and relaxing; my partner and I visited my folks, and zipped up to Akron (from Salem) to grab dinner at Vegiterranean (loved it, LOVE the patio!!!):

That's not to say there wasn't any tomfoolery - add me, my partner and my best friend of 33 years to a pontoon boat that has an iPod compatible stereo (thus the soundtrack went from Madonna's "Holiday" to Charo singing "The Love Boat" theme...) and wellll:
