That bike looks slick.. bet it was awesome from the rideview as well.

^Oh yeah it was. After looking at the photo, I couldn't believe how big it is compared to me though. But then I realized that it is one of the fastest production streetbikes in the world so that's probably why it was so big. It was so cool though. The speedo went up to 180 and I wouldn't doubt if it went faster than that. And it was comfy. Everyone says that those types of bikes look uncomfortable, but in reality, they are quite comfortable.

Jesus ....

The motorcycle in stock form is capable of the following performance:

1/4 mile (402 m): 9.62 seconds @ 149.7 mph (241 km/h)[citation needed]

0–60 mph: 2.60 seconds[citation needed]

0–180 mph: 15.9 seconds[citation needed]

Top speed: 188 mph (303 km/h) electronically restricted

Yeah it's insane. I guess it was faster until 2001 when they detuned them. It was the worlds fastest streetbike. I guess faster than any Ducati. That's insane.

I'll just do the almost-impossible and ignore MTS' last post.

Don't worry, the speed limiter can easily be defeated by a hand held programming device.

That wasn't intended to be 'racially charged'

I'm glad it came out that way though. A little poetic justice.

Shut up!  OMG!!

Actually, he does kind of look like the guy from Harold and Kumar.

I thought he got booted off for being arrogant and argumentative and repeatedly trying to stir up sh!t. I hated to see him go, because it was fun watching everyone pile on him when he got out of line, which was every time he posted.

Tonight I took a photo of myself in the parking lot where one of my first apartments was. The photo on the left is from 1999, so this is exactly 10 years:

Looks like the neighborhood has progressed! lol

Amongst other reasons (including being a racist), he was banned for saying that "I should show up at the forum meet and blow up some cans of gasoline!!!". I'm sure the context was a joke and meant as "this will piss off the pro-transit people", but after his history of trolling, it was the last straw and it was my absolute pleasure to send him packing. I'm glad everyone was amused by the antics of an idiot, but remember that there's someone who has to clean up the mess created by said idiots, and we don't get paid to do so.

Jake, what happened to the office structure across the street?

It's nice they got rid of all the buildings cluttering up the place and made enough parking so that people in cars can bring prosperity! :-)

>Looks like the neighborhood has progressed!

Because I'm not there anymore?

>Jake, what happened to the office structure across the street?

It was vacated around 2002 and torn down around 2004. In the meantime it was heavily vandalized.  I actually liked it because it was green, my favorite color, and the address was 3333 Vine St.  It had a big surface lot in the back where we played baseball on the weekends when nobody worked there.  Before that building there were a few commercial buildings since this was junction of the #78 and #1 streetcars, but the rumor was they were torn down after a shooting outside one of the buildings that was a bar.  This would have been around 1960.

Where the zoo's bridge is now used to be a fairly deep ravine and there was a creek that ran parallel to Ruther (that's why there are no buildings on the east side of Ruther).  There was some kind of forgettable 1960's beige Catholic seminary (why was absolutely Catholic-related built in the 1960's built of beige brick?) or office building down in the ravine that was barely visible from Vine St.  It was about four stories tall and the roof was barely level with Vine.  It took them quite awhile to move all that fill in there.

>Looks like the neighborhood has progressed!

Because I'm not there anymore?

It was sarcasm... I noticed the office building is gone and the apt. building is now a parking lot. The area looks a lot more hollowed out unless it's just the angle.

It's me again, this time high atop Mt. Adams.  It takes a peculiar incompetence to take a shot this bad:

Should we looking forward to an entire "Weekend with the A-Team" photo thread?

Here's me.  I don't like posting photos of myself, but what the heck.  Here today gone tomorrow.

You should send that pic to the Asian woman that nearly fell into a state of rapture after talking to you at the market in Toronto.
