"Not if you're a straight guy staying at a resort in PROVINCETOWN!"

You really ARE an odd bird, aren't you?

I suppose.

MayDay, you think I'm odd because of that? Here's some pictures I took in Sleepy Hollow, NY. You know, Headless Horseman and all that? We snuck into the cemetary late at night, behind the old dutch church next to the infamous sleepy hollow bridge. It was like Ghost Adventures! I don't think I picked up any EVP on the HD Bloggie though.

Andrew Carnegie and William Rockefeller are here!

Once we got in there, it rained all of a sudden, fog galore and the temp. dropped to 66 degrees from 70-something. After we left, I had to drink a couple beers to get the evil spirits out of me. Drinking beer is like burning sage, you know.

Hah! Rob wears stylish button-downs at construction sites! It's getting to be fall season and chilly - better dust-off that Carhartt jacket.

You live in a Historic District? Probably has given you a lot of excuses to start renovation projects, eh?

Two days ago the high was 95F. Today it was 65F with 20mph winds. I need to dust off the Carhartt jacket, get out the snow shovel, and put the electric blanket on the bed.

What button-downs? That's a flannel shirt - Woolrich, a brand that wears almost like Carhartt. I bought it years ago for about 25 cents on the dollar at a store that was closing, and I haven't been able to wear it out. Underneath it a coarse-knit gray henley from Tractor Supply, Dickie work jeans, also from Tractor Supply, and rubber-soled, steel-toe work boots by Converse. I have my hard hat, reflective yellow vest, ear plugs, and eye-protection, too, for when I go into a construction area to take photos. I can butch it up pretty good if I have to.

The Historic District designation has been a benefit. When I first moved to the neighborhood, there were a lot of underpriced rentals owned by absentee landlords, properties were deteriorating, and there was lots of white trash around. The historic designation along with stepped up housing code enforcement sent most of the slumlords packing and put a lot of properties on the market. It drove real-estate prices down for a while, but most of the houses got snapped up by people who wanted to live in them, and they got fixed up. Several of the multiple-unit conversions got turned back into single-family dwellings. Paint schemes and other changes visible from the street have to go before a review board and a few owners chafe at the restrictions, but I like to work toward authenticity. Over the past 40 years, property values in the designated historic districts have seen some of the best appreciation and/or stability in the city.

Rob, I live about a half hour away from Woolrich, PA, which is where the company started and still houses their HQ.  I have never been to their factory store, but I guess I'll have to check it out this year.

Nice makeover!

Last night was Fright Night in downtown Fort Wayne. It's an increasingly popular event, with thousands of people taking part and a huge zombie walk. I thought about going and taking photos, but opted for a movie at Cinema Center, the local art house cinema, where it was warm and comfy. Passing through downtown, I saw big crowds of people everywhere. The movie I saw was Cairo Time. Good film; great visuals and wonderful sound track.

I really hit it off with the blonde chick on the left  :-D She grabbed my arm, took me to a different club and offered to buy me mixed drinks (usually I buy!) I think I had her at "I'd eat your liver with some fava beans and a nice bottle of Chianti! What an amazing birthday lol

Who said anything about Hannibal? I still had that outfit from when out of nowhere they sent me to a padded room next to all the crazies. I'm still p!ssed about that.

Well I hope you got your candle blown out!  How about that?! ;)

Blown out and quickly reignited! I was in rare form lol

Good boy!  LOL

I wasn't into Halloween this year.  It was bad.  My first "idea" didn't work out so I had to go with one of my backups.  I went as "La Decision"

lol

Halloween parties can lead to some awkward conversations, man. I told this dude at this other halloween party I went to that he looked spot on, as Christian Bale in American Psycho. He goes, "I'm Kourtney Kardashian's boyfriend"  .... Oops.

lol

Well you're already one of the most influential people in Columbus! I took a Photogrammetry class at Columbus State last year. I remember going to the website to log into my account for class and there was your friggin' picture on the home page as an example of success! You probably get recognized at Giant Eagle.

Very cool.  Where was the hospital located?

Near Pittsburgh but can't disclose anything else about it right now :/

As the semi-official photographer of my family and circle of friends I'm just never going to have an interesting casual shot of myself (that I don't think I look especially dumb in). So, here's something I took of myself in a mirror for a profile pic a while back.

Well, instead of a good picture, I have a cool one (at least I think so)  I took it when I was working in the gulf of Mexico on a barge constructing an oil pipeline.  The first pic is a self portrait of me being brought onboard by use of a basket.  The second was my view of the gulf and guys clutching the ropes for dear life.

And about that pipeline, since I helped engineer it,you can expect an enviromental disaster in about 10 years.

This is about a a year too late (I just stumbled upon this thread), but someone needs to look at the connection between punch and the gulf oil spill.  :-)
