August 30, 200519 yr My couch looks like it's from 1974 (although it's probably in too good a condition to actually be that old). Old thrift store furniture for college students=cheap=yay!
August 30, 200519 yr And as long as I'm here, I might as well post a picture. This is a still frame from a video; I always enjoy it because it seriously makes me look like a monster... or maybe a genetic experiment gone wrong. :-o (If you're wondering, my head is rapidly approaching, and about to make contact with, the camera.)
September 1, 200519 yr That couch looks like all the fashion in 1974. LOL....I'm not sitting on a couch. I'm sitting inside the pyramid looking casino in vegas (can't remember the change)...I think its something concrete in the lobby.
September 1, 200519 yr In spite of what you hear. 1974 was not that bad of a year. Nixon resigned. I was born. Two very important events in mankind. :-D
September 10, 200519 yr I figured I'd bring back this thread, since I know everyone wants to get a look at me: Me caving in NZ. Are you caving in Greymouth? I did the cave excursion when Greymouth back in Dec. 2003. Pretty awesome experience, having to trek through a Rain Forest first to get to the cave...which is a river cave...went tubing in it...
September 16, 200519 yr Grasscat, I love that photo. I have forwarded it to many friends. It captures NASCAR so very well.
September 16, 200519 yr I forget where I even found it. I did a search for something in Google Images and it came up. I thought it was pretty hilarious.
September 22, 200519 yr Actually, it looks more like he's either making a wish or playing hide-and-go-seek.
October 13, 200519 yr Here's a pic of me from a few weeks ago after I took a header into a piece of furniture. The scabs have been gone for a while now, but there's still a discoloration where it was. This extreme closeup makes me look like I have some kind of skin rash:
October 13, 200519 yr Is that the same T-shirt as in the photo monte posted? Yeah, it is. What can I say. I like the CBA. :-D

November 16, 200519 yr ^ Bluespade, Yahoo doesn't let you hotlink. That's why you're getting red X's. Unless you pay for your space. It's not expensive -- I pay $13.95/month for 5 GB storage and 200 GB data transfer with a Yahoo Small Business account.
November 16, 200519 yr You could get 5GB and 300GB transfer for half that. That's what we have for the site. Bluespade: You can save(attach) your photos on the forum here. Just click on the additional options when you are posting a post.
November 28, 200519 yr I don't have picture of myself yet, but I will. I am new here and have only recently found this site and I think it is awesome! I am currently at OU in Athens trying to obtain a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Hopefully will be going to OSU next year for a masters in Architecture or City Planning, which everone I am accepted into. Anyone have any advise on OSU? Peace!
November 28, 200519 yr Is OSU your only option? There is a good number of Cleveland State graduate urban planning students on this site.
November 28, 200519 yr Depends what you want to write your thesis on and the teacher profiles. Don't jump into the OSU boat so soon.

Well, I'm in OSU's City & Regional Planning school and I can tell you it's a wonderful program, the teachers really care, and it is definately "you," if you are into planning. Any advice or such, just PM me about OSU or something. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 28, 200519 yr The Ohio State University is the best school in the state and is located in the best city in the state.* *Bias opinion of an Ohio State alumnus who resides in Columbus.
November 28, 200519 yr It ain't the best city nor the best school in the state but it's my favorite school in my new home ;).
Cleveland State's Levin College of Urban Affairs has been consistently ranked #2 in the nation. I have been greatly surprised how much it has to offer outside of the classroom. Its definitely worth checking out.
November 28, 200519 yr University of Cincinnati is regarded to have the best planning school in the state. Think of it as the "Yale" of planning (Cornell would be the "Harvard"). "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 28, 200519 yr okay, i went to OSU today to check out there Architecture program, well as much as I could, it was a busy day for everyone there. I didn't get to do much, I met with a woman there, she explained a few things to me, and I basically walked around. So if you saw a guy with dark short hair with glasses wearing a red longsleave shirt, that was me! Anyway, I found it to be a little intimidating. It seems a little to artistic and abstract for me and I have never done anything like what I saw today in the studios. Anyone on here a part of the Architecture program there at OSU? If so, I would like to get some insight on what it is like and what you think of the program. Is there a college thread on this board?
November 29, 200519 yr University of Cincinnati is regarded to have the best planning school in the state. Think of it as the "Yale" of planning (Cornell would be the "Harvard"). I've never heard much about urban planning school rankings. I'd be curious to hear what Mr. Good Day says about UC. He got his BA there.
November 29, 200519 yr LOL, I didn't mean to start a UC vs. OSU vs. CWRU vs. Etc. argument. My post was meant as a joke (although every bit of it is true). :-D
November 29, 200519 yr I don't think you started an argument. Its just a discussion. If you are from Cleveland, which it doesn't seem like you are, I would highly suggest Levin. Its a great place for people who care about Cleveland. I have no experience with the other schools, so I have no right to comment.

November 29, 200519 yr I don't feel like paying to see the rest of the rankings, but here is one list: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/pub/brief/padsp1_brief.php Public Affairs Specialties: City Management & Urban Policy Ranked in 2004* 1. University of Kansas 2. Cleveland State University 3. University of Southern California
November 29, 200519 yr Oh, city MANAGEMENT...that's a whole new field LOL! I thought we were talking planning ;) "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 29, 200519 yr ^That is the only ranking out there that deals with the related field of urban planning.
November 29, 200519 yr It kinda/kinda does not relate to urban planning. USNews, I believe, deals with departments. Planning Departments are usually in Architecture or Engineering colleges. There are ranking for them, just not in USNews. When I have time, I'll post them. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 29, 200519 yr Planning Departments are usually in Architecture or Engineering colleges. I wouldn't say 'usually'. I would say 'sometimes.' Urban planning is the amoeba of graduate programs. It seems to fit in with many different types of colleges. I had never heard of an urban planning department within an engineering college. That is scary. I don't want any engineers controling planning.
