Posted August 23, 200618 yr Inspired by the Cleveland & Cincinnati Photo trivia threads, here's a thread for guessing skylines of world cities... The person who correctly guesses the photo below, can pick a photo of their choosing of a world skyline, the person to correctly guess that city gets a turn and so on... Entry #1:
August 23, 200618 yr Monte: I assume "World" can mean any city outside Ohio correct? (Not that I have any educated guess.)
August 23, 200618 yr Well I see pick-up trucks and SUV's, so it's probably in the US... obviously it's located by a body of water... don't see any palm trees... maybe it's Canada in the summer.... Edmonton?
August 23, 200618 yr thats tough, a lot of these cities look alike to me. i would have to guess........eeerrr.....sao paulo......
August 23, 200618 yr It is Sao Paulo overlooking Jardins neighborhood. The name was in the title of the photo
August 23, 200618 yr ^damn...I didn't notice that about the name in the title thing (not my photo). But either way....atlas got to it first! Have at it..
August 23, 200618 yr where is the title with the name? Anyway, heres the next one. Sorry if this is small.
August 23, 200618 yr I've seen that damn needle before... located on the water... hills in the background... maybe Australia... Melbourne?
August 24, 200618 yr Man is that Edmonton? Good photo for being sneeky, hard to make out some of the buildings.
August 24, 200618 yr i dunno though. if you look at the calgary picture i posted, the river is on the near side of the picture. in this picture, the river is on the other side of the city. unless there are 2 bodies of water or my directions are backwards. other than that, I have no educated guess for this.
August 24, 200618 yr Well upon further review it isn't Calgary: Here is another photo of Calgary: Hey Metro, can you post another photo of the city above?
August 25, 200618 yr Dude Canada's downtowns are way more functional. It's pretty sad. Have you guys seen Vancouver? Talk about efficient utilization of land.
August 25, 200618 yr Yes David, I have been to Vancouver and no Maygar that is definitely not Louisville. Metro give us another hint.
August 25, 200618 yr Wow, can't believe I have stumped you guys. It is a US city. You could double your pleasure if you visit here.
August 25, 200618 yr Peoria, Illinois? Based primarily on your comment that you could "double your pleasure" ... Wrigley Jr. is headquartered in Peoria. But the photos of Peoria I've looked at COULD be a match.
August 25, 200618 yr Ahhh yes, St. Paul the city in the shadow of Minneapolis. Nice one... Looks like mrnyc got it.
