No, but right continent (Landstuhl, that is, not Magadan :-)).

Clue #1: This city has a connection to one of Ohio's cities.

sure looks Italian.  Is it Genoa?

Don't tell me it's Parma.

No and no.

Hint #2: The bordering Carpathians provide ample lookout points over the city.

zakopane, poland?

I take back the Poland guess

One of my Romanian co-workers passed my desk and asked why I have a picture of Brasov, Romania on my computer.

Ohio connection:  One of Cleveland's sister cities.

Don't tell me it's Parma.

Parma, eh?

That is where my Italian ancestry is from.

Romanian co-workers are helpful. And yes, that's accurate. As an additional tidbit, Brasov has capitalized on vampiric rumors to increase tourism traffic; Vlad the Impaler reputedly lived in nearby Bran Castle. You're up, Buckeye1.

I'm at work - no ability to upload photos so if someone else wants to post, feel free.

How about these (all the same city--one of my favorites):

Quito? or some city in Peru maybe?

La Paz, Bolivia. I was helping a student at a local high school represent Bolivia in Model UN recently.

Spartan got it. La Paz is such a cool city.

Interesting facts about La Paz:

-highest world capital

-highest airport (runway is two miles long because lack of air friction requires more length for landings

-population is about 2 million

These are getting pretty tough!

So when's the next photo?

^You got the last one, which means you get to post the next one...we eagerly await your choice!

Go for it.

Miluakee?

Chicago?

Detroit??

I think GA_Lancer must be right...the tall building looks like it is definitely the Aon center.

yea, plus the park and the older buildings, looks a lil like new york, but less dense, so i figured chicago. not sure though.

dude, Spartan65, it's almost been 48 hours since you last posted!

Richmond is a pretty darn good guess, as someone who frequents both. Think of cities that would look simillar to Richmond.

Well it's none of these cities. When someone gets it I'll throw a party, how's that?

Tulsa, OK

Yep it looks like it is Tulsa, good guess.

Yep it looks like it is Tulsa, good guess.

Regionalism asside, you can never beat Tulsa.

Ragerunner....

We need a photo!  8-)

500 bucks says almost every single one of you are either using google or emporis.com

Woah i was not expecting to get that right. And no, I was not using any site...just pieced together mountains, tropical looking environment, a few unique buildings, etc.

Then you, sir, are a genius.

^genius/nerd

i'm not a nerd i swear! Just a good guesser...

That's why I said genius, you can still be cool and be a genius :]

Okay, I'm going to reinvigorate this thread.  Here's a shot of my favorite downtown, wedged between two lakes:

MadisonDowntown.jpg

I'll take a guess that it's Madison, Wi.

Madison it is indeed.  I love that town.  So now you're up for posting a new one.

^ i guessed it too, but only because i noticed you recently revived all the milwaukee threads - lol! oh but also thanks for doing that i love the place and madison too.

Madison, WI is one of my favorite towns. Landing there by plane is incredible because you fly really low over the lake and see the whole city around you. Unfortunately their economy and their people aren't very diverse. UW-Madison has to be at least 95 percent white.
