New York's new governor

This whole thing with Cuomo-the fall from grace has been fast! From Covid-19 hero to resignation! Damn.

Possibly - it's also possible he knowingly killed a bunch of people in nursing homes. We'll see how much comes to light if he is still impeached:

What I meant was that initially he was seen as a hero-before any of that stuff came to light. Depending on what happens, his fall from grace may be even worse.

except no — a worldwide pandemic is not a state governor’s job. thats what we have a fed gov for. reality is trump knowing killed many, many more usa citizens when he put his unqualified, dual citizen son in law kushner in charge of covid. little kushy of course infamously saw that it was killing trump’s enemies, so he put down his pencil, went silent and walked away from it without telling anybody. he and trump are the ones who should and perhaps eventually will be tried for mass murder.

now they can throw cuomo in the clink too for all anyone cares, but he is no comparison to trump’s disgraceful and willful covid evasions.

^ Right. I subscribed and we had a nice back and forth about which beaches he should visit in Ohio. Maybe just on hiatus?

I guess the lockdown(s) must have curtailed his activities, but he should have been back by now. I love the way he manages to both embrace and skewer popular and consumerist culture at the same time. Hopefully he'll be posting again soon.

welcome to my friendly neighborhood Trader Joe's 👋  This guy was probably just bringing them to the nearby community refrigerator😇  I once saw someone hauling steaks onto a wagon in the elevator at the TJ's on 3rd Avenue in Murray Hill in a similar hurry

Can we stop calling people like this "activists" and just call them what they are: assholes.

Torontonians visit Cleveland, specifically to see Les Miz (claim it's not available in Toronto). Some great shots of Art Museum. Overly long sequence of camping trip to Pymatuning, but spectacular fall colors. Don't see to many of those in NY😅 (can't tell which Trader Joe's they went to. Most likely Mentor)

A couple months ago the CityNerd channel was recommended to me on Youtube, and it's been great. Would highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a new Youtuber to follow.

The channel is put together by Ray Delahanty, and he does a great job researching each video to show what's being done well in city planning, and what is being done poorly. I'm really enjoying his stuff and thought I'd share to see if anyone else enjoys it too!

I've been watching a lot of Hot Ones interviews lately. They're a lot of fun.

Long time reader here.. first time poster.. I came across this video which sounded  pretty cool,. But then suddenly I got the whole flat earther vibe from it.  Figured I'd post here, and maybe someone could enlighten this guy on the fact that cleveland was the richest city in the world at one time, and that not everything you see is a GD conspiracy.

I've been watching the ErictheElectric videos. Holy god the guy puts an impossible amount of food away.

Does anyone watch Doctor Mike? How does he have time to be an influencer and work full time as a PCP? The guy has a ton of content for someone who works a conventional job 60+ hours a week.

Merry belated Christmas, happy early New Year, and I hope that none of your holiday celebrations got/get as out of control as the Eggnog Riot of 1826 at West Point!

there's a documentary about the E. Village's famous (or infamous) Ukrainian restaurant Veselka coming soon. I used to go there occasionally years ago but the prices have gotten a little ridiculous. Anyway I can't believe how old the owners (father & son) look now (I know, I should talk--pot calling the kettle black). And of course some of New York's ever-popular politicians are always on hand for photo-ops. At 1:33 you'll see my illustrious city council rep Carlina Rivera next to the Mayor himself and to the right (a little blurred), Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine. I wonder if any of them paid for their meals. Oh wait, that was we the taxpayers!

Apologies if this has already been posted.  I am surprised to see that both Cincinnati and Cleveland made the list.

A Brit reacts to Cleveland.
