possibly the single funniest video I've seen in a year. I don't know if this was satirized on SNL over the weekend. I don't know how that would even be possible?

The speaker obviously had mental health issues and AOC dealt with the situation calmly and respectfully. That’s downright presidential behavior.

About half of the community/political meetings I have attended - and I've been to a lot of them - have an outrageous character or two interrupt/dominate the public comment section.  I think situations like this are the exact reason why a lot of established politicians avoid these things, and with instant sharing via digital media, there is no way to control the message.

She stuttered through what should have been a canned "climate change 101" talking point rebuttal. She somehow managed to leave the door wide open as to whether or not we should or shouldn't be eating babies. I won't even mention the excessive blinks and winks... If you're going to do these events, especially if you're someone like her, you've got to be prepared for the outlandish because they're going to make up about half the audience.

That's rich. Keep on trolling Ram.

Don't know if this is obvious by now, but the "AOC supporter" was a right-wing troll: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/babies-climate-change-aoc/

However the woman wasn't an AOC supporter, nor was she actually suggesting eating babies to combat climate change. She apparently was working at the behest of a fringe conspiracy group with a history of such stunts. They stated their intent was to troll Ocasio-Cortez.

Stating that eating babies is obviously not the answer to the impending climate doom AOC blabs about doesn't even take preparation. It just takes a bit of common sense.

In other words, AOC was smart enough to not feed the troll and repeat her "eating babies" nonsense, and instead steer the conversation in a productive direction. What a class act.

That's an ambitious commercial for a restaurant themed to naked babies that only has three outposts in Lima.

there are five kewpees left.

lima has the three and there is one in racine and one in lansing.

there were 200 kewpees at one time.

also, one of the original kewpee owners opened wilson's in findlay, which is still a very popular diner downtown there and very good.

This channel brings me so much joy.  My god kids rush home after school to watch each days new video.  The puppies are so cute, I'm hooked, my boyfriend is hooked, my nephew is hooked, his girlfriend is hooked.  These puppies are so dang cute! I love how the dogs refer to their owner as "Hooman"  LOL

Are you saying this video reminded you? Or we're supposed to watch the video and guess?

^Obnoxious monkey-see/monkey-do young professionals.

I avoid Oakley (and specifically Madtree) for the same reasons.  Yes, Youtube/Insta/Snapchat has turned lots of my generation into a bunch of self-righteous idiots, but I've learned its not worth paying attention to.  We just gave this lady some clicks because she's annoying, feeding right into the problem.  Once that iPhone camera is turned off, their lives are just as boring, empty and monotonous as the rest of us.

^actually, moreso. There's not much you can actually DO with a phone in your hand.

Geez guys, what'd she do? Attack your mother?

First, she's a local reporter. So this kind of thing is just part of that grind. You have to self promote. Good on her for apparently knowing how to play the game.

Second, these kinds of videos may seem dumb to us. But spending a chunk of your day reading/responding to internet message boards might seem pretty useless to her. Yet she's not making Youtube videos blasting us for enjoying it.

I just don't understand this desire to hate on people for living their lives differently than I do.

Fair enough.  The only difference is she's doing it for money and exposure, we're in some hidden corner of the internet airing out our grievances, not intending for these people to see it.

Hey guys, GCrites80s here with another episode of Urban OHIO. This time around it is my Top 4 ways the Cincinnati neighborhood of Oakley is like Mario Kart, specifically Double Dash for the GameCube. Well, duh, it's for the GameCube since that's the only system people care about at all in 2019! Be sure to like and subscribe! Hit that bell!

Right. Which makes it less dumb than what we do haha. This is her career. She's a TV personality. I WISH someone would pay me for all the golden nuggets of wisdom I put out there on UrbanOhio.

I was watching Brink on Disney + this weekend (don't judge me) and it cracked me up that the entire plot of that movie was that "selling out" was the worst thing a person could do in the 90s. Now selling out is not only encouraged but it's the entire purpose of YouTubers, Instagrammers etc.

This guy definitely doesn't live in Oakley with those X-Blades people, he's in Northside/College Hill with the Soul Skaters.

A buddy of mine still gets pissed when he sees an older movie star in commercials. "He sold out. I can't believe it!" And I'm always like, "Yeah, but he just paid for all his grandkids to go to college." Actors are not punk bands!

Slammer's was hardcore.  But it's gone now.

I wonder what finally did it in.

I don't know.  I last went in 2014 or 2015.  The back "patio" was special.  It was basically just a cinder block alley.  They didn't own a leaf blower or didn't use it because it was ankle deep in leaves.

This is all we get from Yelp:

She drives to Dayton every day from Oakley?  Does not really get her much credibility in her local market if she does not live in it.

She doesn't drive to Dayton every day. She's on channel 12. In Cincinnati.

did not realize that. I clicked on another one of her YouTube videos and it showed her at WDTN. I ended up seeing another video about how she had a big move to a new city when she got the job at channel 12. I never watch 12 so that is why I have never heard of her.

Finally got to skim this one. I like how the shot of the Fusian location is of the one in Grandview rather than Oakley. Of course, Grandview is Columbus' Oakley.

In minute 7, "Zach" (the cyborg wearing a North Face hat) starts talking about Bitcoin and Dogecoin.  This video is from last week, not 2017.

There is always a vibe that comes off of this class of people when they talk about being "thrifty" and "frugal".  Your parents pay for your stuff.  You aren't fooling anybody.

I've lived in Oakley for 5 yrs now.  I do not know Oakley-ites who are in like this 24-yr-old YouTuber.  I run in a different demographic within Oakley.  Sadly, I suspect her view of the world is closer to the average Oakley-ite and my view is much more in a fringe demo that exists in Oakley.  Bottom line - there are lots of ways to "live" in Oakley.  Oakley is freakin' incredibly walkable.  (I walk 1,000 miles a year in Oakley - clearly fringe.)  I enjoy not driving whenever possible - instead, walk or bus.

She's back.  This time she was snookered into buying a new car by Jeff Wyler:

I hate that anyone's "dream car" is a crossover. Can't you dream any bigger than something that is a compromise in every single way? It's not a price thing either -- granted the secondary market hates crossovers as much as I do so there is money to be "saved" but... I'm starting to get burned out on YouTubers and their delivery. The rabbit ears here in Columbus just added a channel that is all old History Channel shows from the mid-late 2000s so I watched Ice Road Truckers episodes from 2007 last night. It was so much more relaxing than this "Hey Guys" stuff. Despite being History Channel content there has been no Hitler so far.

Oh and in contrast to the Grandview Fusian standing in for Oakley's, the shots of Jeff Wyler are not of his Canal Winchester location despite Eastgate being Cincinnati's Canal Winchester

This is totally believable  The individual who wants this vehicle, lives in a tacky, suburban, tract McMansion, where the garage is the main front facing focal point.

I watched this a few weeks ago. Popped up on my YouTube suggestions. Fascinating stuff.

Just started watching it. They said it will be the biggest city in the world by 2100. That's impossible to project. Way too many technological variables and societal changes in 80 years to accurately say this.
