January 9, 200916 yr This is what happens when White people receive the holy spirit! And this is exactly why I don't go to church! Honey, that was a mild epileptic seizure, not the Holy Ghost. ::) ::) Go to a Pentecostal Spanish speaking church if you want to truly see the Holy Ghost.
January 9, 200916 yr ^^ I like the kid in the front pew who is just sitting there. I think he was sending the following text message: "KOOW, I'm at St. Mark Methodist church downtown and the place has gone bananas. Holy shit this dude just fell on the ground and is having a spasm. For the love of God, get me outta here. Amen."
January 9, 200916 yr This is what happens when White people receive the holy spirit! And this is exactly why I don't go to church! I use to go to a Church like this in new Holland!!! LOL But Thank God I saw the light and left. People like this are the reason I joined the Catholic Church! Just a quick story. One night I was at church (New Holland), and in the middle of the congregation singing "How Great Thou Art", this rather large lady had a seizure and fell to the floor. Instead of calling 911, these assholes decided to put "hands of healing upon her"! She was on the floor for a good 10 mins but thankfully recovered and got back up. Despite what the minister said, it was not a miracle. She had these often, and ALWAYS gets back up after about 10-15 mins. The entire time this was going on, I just stood there with my mouth open. I left the church a few months later!

But I thought the Black Pentecostal ladies had the most spirit, no? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKhlEqBNC5o

But I thought the Black Pentecostal ladies had the most spirit, no? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKhlEqBNC5o No, Latin churches are a hot mess. There is a pentecostal church on 125 and Lex, they hold service on 125 and when I walk past, I always shout out "Weeeeelllllllll" or "Ameeeen!". There is another one in Boerum Hill in downtown brooklyn that had the best music. But they would carry on and faint all over the damn place and it was too much for "church".
January 10, 200916 yr no, appalachian pentecostal churches are the wildest. i went to a tent revival in ky. the ladies did not ever cut their hair and had huge beehives. it was packed, they all sang, yelled and carried on and passed the plate about 50 bazillion times. and they spoke in tongues and layed hands and pulled out bloody tumors. it was non-stop action. i am scarred.

Jesus H. Christ. When I lived in Brooklyn, I went to a tent revival in Crown Heights. Those west indian children are mess. I just knew I was going to see a chicken or goat sacrificed!
January 10, 200916 yr Who would suspect the Asians would be off the hook when it comes to Pentecostals - this is the first time I've actually seen holy rollers rollin! I love the woman running down the aisle like Rod Roddy just called her down for the Price is Right...
January 11, 200916 yr Author I love short films. This was funny. Check this one out. Its a little shorter. I know how you all love trains.

I loved this song back in the day! January 18, 200916 yr Author I hate how some suburban white people dress and talk like they're from the hood. They'll change the way they talk when they've never even been around people who talk ebonics. It's just stuff they picked up from MTV and BET. Don't give me that "clothes don't make you who you are - people can wear whatever they want, it's part of self expression" bs. We all make assumptions about everybody based on their clothes, mannerisms and the way people talk. That reminds me of white blues musicians. Who the hell are you to sing the blues? You live in the suburbs and you don't know what it's like to be discriminated against and oppressed. Knock it off. You have it too good. You're not fooling anybody.
January 21, 200916 yr Author LMAO @ the second one. I have to agree with the guy in the first video. The media needs to stop going after people who aren't public figures - especially people under 18. It's getting ridiculous.
January 22, 200916 yr Author Catholics protest against "Jerry Springer - The Opera" in OTR I had no idea this even existed. Jerry Springer: The Opera is a British musical written by Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas, based on the television show The Jerry Springer Show. The musical is notable for its profanity, its irreverent treatment of Judeo-Christian themes, and surreal images such as a troupe of tap-dancing Ku Klux Klan members. The musical is completely sung through, with the exceptions of title character, Jerry, who speaks, and a brief speech by the character Steve.
January 22, 200916 yr In light of someones "communicable disease" :fight: :fight: and the potential that FC could get the MM/CC here are two video's to lighten the mood. This is video is a hot mess. I can't imagine coming home to find my parents having relations let alone "role play". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7nVgRsxgMo This video is hilarious! You must read the subtitles. I can't stop laughing!
January 22, 200916 yr Of all the enduring images from Tuesday, this is the one I love the most.... A president and first lady I've cared about for the first time ever, their obvious affection for each other, the first black president, the reaction by the crowd, etc. etc. etc. Beyonce's performace was great, but she was trying to hold back her tears at the end for the same reasons as I...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-pzlZPRvx8 "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

She butchered that song! She doesn't have the chops for songs with guts! I wanted to jump up there and push her ass off the podium.
January 22, 200916 yr I love Beyonce!! Not only is she gorgeous and her smile delicious, but I love her voice and her control. Looks like we're going to have to disagree. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

January 22, 200916 yr What flaming gay planet have you been hanging out on?!?! I need to take you to a country bar in Akron where everyone arrives in pickups and wears flanel, or maybe a testosterone-soaked sports bar in Parma where the women inhale lines of whiskey and the men punch each other in the face to bond with each other. That might bring you back to Earth! On that score, Beyonce is pure, pretty p&ssy. Me in Parma for a night out on the town?......surely you jest? From a professional point of view, she's a jack@ss!
January 23, 200916 yr To bring this back to the point of the thread, aside from the desert this could be Parma or Akron! Good ol' testosterone-oozing, ozone-burning, ass-kicking American classic. "America? F*ck yeah!" But can anyone top this? http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-ym0nrqjbqNA/harley_davidson_and_the_marlboro_man_intro_reward/ "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

January 23, 200916 yr I didnt even think about some of the older singers like Aretha, Patti LaBelle, Dianna Ross, etc. They probably could have done a much better job, and I kind of wonder why the Obama's picked Beyonce. Perhaps a shamesless appeal at being current and "hip" and in touch with the young people?
