I limited the question to "home" systems because many of us Mac users are FORCED to use Windows at work.  So let the voting begin.

Monte,

Its the other way with me. I am forced to use MAC at home.

I use windows, but I downloaded a patch that makes everything on my PC appear as a Mac!  Its a pretty cool feature.  I must use windows for the programs that I operate, and I got this patch before the new thing came out for Macs to have a windows function that runs windows software.  Not to mention I don't have squat for money...except for bills

I'm sorry...just noticed this.  But isn't it contradicting to say: Mac OS X (any version) :|  It would be like saying Windows XP (any version)....right?

Windows, although Miami FORCES me to you Macs at times.

MS-DOS. Oregon Trail up in this B$%@

No but seriously windows for its universality and soon to be Linux-Windows dual boot for the free (and better) software and eliminated bull**** that you get with Windows. I'm gonna hold off on getting a new computer for a bit since Windows Vista is going to be pretty demanding on older components and i'd prefer to have it pre-loaded.

Actually no...

OS X stands for "Operating System 10" but Apple updates the operating system more often then Microsoft.  Each .x release is a new version.  It is different from service packs that Windows puts out.  For example we are currently on OS X Tiger 10.4.7.  It is broken down like this:

10.0 - Cheetah

10.1 - Puma

10.2 - Jaguar

10.3 - Panther

10.4 - Tiger

10.5 - Leopard (Due out Spring of 2007)

Bengal falls under Tiger ;)

I hope to God he knew that lol.

Word on the streets is that they're making a Bearcat edition to pay homage to the most awesome school in the world.

Windows XP Pro, on Athlon 64 3400+. I tried Windows XP 64 and it ran all my existing software just fine, but there are no 64-bit drivers available for my scanners so I had to drop back to the 32-bit version. XP64 is still installed; I set up dual boot so I'll still have it available when the scanner drivers come out.

But

What if you use more than one OS at home ?

eek

You're gonna ban me from your polls :-)

Apple changed their numbering system when they moved to unix

I guess to milk the "X" factor.

If they kept up with the old numbering system they would be on 14 now.

Yeah that was before my Mac days.  I couldn't tell you what my Apple IIE had loaded on it when I was a kid.  That beast didn't even have a hard drive and it used to eat my five & a quarters.

xp

wee

I'm using windows xp x64 right now.  It took a few days to get it running with drivers for my wireless network card(Belkin 7050).  I'm starting to see the power of 64 bit now. ;)
