Posted August 25, 200618 yr Several of us went to Party at the Point yesterday to enjoy a Wednesday afternoon of live music, $1.50 drafts and socializing. Party in the Park & Party in the Point rotate every other Wednesday and this was my first time going to the Party at Sawyer Point, we coincedentally always attended the Wednesday party at Yeatman's Cove. August 25, 200618 yr What kind of trees are these? I noticed Bryant Park in NYC has these trees but there they are about 80ft. high and 2ft. around. I'm guessing they can't really make it in a forest situation which is why you don't see them naturally around this area. Also, that band appears to have all brand-new equipment, I can tell these guys have no attitude.
August 25, 200618 yr Those are London Plane trees. They do get very large with age and appropriate soil conditions. You wouldn't see them in the forest, though, because they are actually a hybrid of the American sycamore and another species. You will find often find sycamores in forest stands, near rivers and lakes.
