Something tells me "paved event space" is code for parking lot.

But this probably won't ever happen so I guess I'm not worried about it.

If you were the Arshot Comms director for the last 10 years, your job has been a freaking cake walk. Getting paid to ignore requests from media and governments on plans of your developments this whole time.

Didn't Arshot by Tuttle?

Hmm, it was a private equity group to my knowledge that owns other malls and other store locations. Now Arshot or people from the Schottenstein family might be a part of the private equity play.

Part of Cooper Stadium complex could be torn down, document shows

Some sections of the Cooper Stadium complex are slated to be razed.

Lion Construction Services has submitted a document to the city of Columbus requesting partial demolition of the former baseball park at 1115 W. Mound St.

The document said the project would involve removing "accessory structures" at the stadium, including tiers of steps for stadium seating, existing fencing, ramps, walls and more.

Still bummed by how empty this development is compared to what it could and should have been.

The good news is, all you need is a few semi trucks and you can move most of it out of there, lol.

Shipping containers installed at former Cooper Stadium as redevelopment plan moves forward

"A ring of shipping containers has been erected at the former Cooper Stadium on West Mound Street, the latest twist in the 16-year saga to redevelop the site.

About three-dozen shipping containers, some double-stacked, surround the stadium's former grandstand and entrance building.

The property owner and developer, SPARC, an arm of Arshot Investment Corp. in Columbus, asked for permission to place the shipping containers on the site as part of a redevelopment plan approved by the city in October. SPARC's plans then called for converting the 47-acre site into a mixed-use development with apartments, commercial buildings and an amphitheater.

The plan approved in October called for up to 51,440 square feet of office space, up to 13,440 square feet of retail space, and up to 200 apartment units, with the potential to build up to 550 apartments."

Someone posted a picture on reddit and it looks horrible. Not sure what the end goal is, but so far the containers look like crap.

Jealous of Fortress Obetz I guess

Also, the amount of parking in this development is an embarrassment.

Arshot is an embarrassment. Hopefully, it never happens and they'll finally sell the damn site like they should've done 10 years ago.

If it weren't for the family name and money ties to city elites, I'm sure Arshot would be in the same bucket at the Fort Rapids, Latitude Five25, and other "absent" property developers and owners. Just about everything they touch rots.

I have to imagine they are temporary. I assumed they were there to protect the grandstand so it doesn't get damaged by all the construction activities around it.

I read they'll eventually line the perimeter along the "backside" of the property to keep the "transient population" from cutting across the property on their way to/from the services on Harmon Road.
