September 19, 200618 yr Hmm...what were the results of some of these games. I know Colerain beat that team from PA 28-0. Byrnes edged Moeller. Lakeland beat St. X in a tight game. De La Salle beat the shite out of Elder. Not so good for the Cincy teams. Anyone know any of the other results?
September 19, 200618 yr ^I went to both the Moeller and St. X games....both Cincy teams should have one. They were the ones who controled the game, but they couldn't come through in the clutch....tough defeats :| Tournament rises to challenge CHRISTOPHER LAWLOR / USA TODAY September 17, 2006 CINCINNATI - If overnight reviews are an indication, the second McDonald's Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge was a big success. The Challenge featured nine football games Friday and Saturday matching nine Ohio teams vs. out-of-state teams from eight states. Seven USA TODAY Super 25 teams played, with No. 11 Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.) and No. 8 St. Xavier (Cincinnati) losing. Out-of-state teams won five games. Event organizer Josh Johnston says almost 60,000 fans attended the four sessions at both venues in Cincinnati and Massillon, Ohio... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/football/2006-09-17-ohio-challenge_x.htm
September 20, 200618 yr Ed's beat Springdale (Arkansas) 49-3 Too bad they lost to St. Xavier a week earlier. "St. Edward (3-1), ranked 30th nationally and fourth in Ohio, was lethal and efficient in handing Springdale its first loss in 16 games. The Eagles scored the first three times they had the ball, rolled up nearly 350 yards of offense, had two lengthy punt returns, created two turnovers and held the Bulldogs to 167 net yards." http://www.cleveland.com/hsfootball/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/1158481865226180.xml&coll=2
September 4, 200717 yr I'm pretty sure that all the Cincinnati teams won there games: Elder, Colerain and St. Xavier all won. How did the rest of Ohio do? BTW, I was watching the St. X game on ESPN and not only did X dominate the #7 team in the nation...but they did it without their stud running back. Now that is especially impressive.
