The first work I did in OTR was on a vacant building with these words on the side "_immy _kinner _usic _enter".

Later I heard about what a rocking place Mr. Skinner had at the nec of Vine and 13th in the 50-60's.  They had live music in the storefront, recording studio and record store.  Later I aquired some Jimmy Skinner albums for kicks, and visited the Olde Tyme Music store in Elmwood Place, which was where he had moved his recording studio.  To me the name conjures all kinds of emotions about bluegrass, drunks, buddy gray, abandonned buildings, demolition, hillbillys in cincinnati, and evolution of a neighborhood.  I guess I am nostalgic for a time slightly older than me.

My name comes from the fact that for four years of my life I worked at Trader Jake's Seaside Supplies (or Mic's Seaside Supplies in 04) at PKI. It was rare for management to work in the same location for four years, so I got the monkier Trader Jake. Too bad I got out of PKI after being the last merchandise manager of WaterWorks and the first merchandise manager of Boomerrang Bay, but the name still sticks around.

sadly it is quite lame...Mr. Peabody is the name of my cat, and I use peabody as a screen name anywhere I have to register b/c it is easy to remember. There is my boy below:

Least. Original. Screen-name. EVER!!!

Eh when I signed up, I think it was right before I wanted to comment on a post when I was browsing the board as a guest so I just chose my name, the first thing that came to mind. Reflecting it it though, I wish I had made something more creative.

muscatello

After 30+ years of being called everything from marshmallow, musketeer, mousecateer, muscajello and musky, I took the name that seemed to follow me throughout the my travels on the planet. It's weird that my friends at the time would start calling my this without me saying anything to them about it... almost like they knew each other - creepy.

My 16 yo told me the other day that his friends call him that too... heh, heh.

It is too hard to remember all the different passwords needed, that I had to start a log with all the variations.  Work is the worst--at least five, all of which must be different and which expire rapidly.  SFSpike is easy to remember and is easy to type.  The SF is for San Francisco, my home for the last 20 years, and Spike is for Spijk, a town I lived in while studying in Holland (many many years ago), and which also rhymes with my name, Mike.  And just down the street is Spike's coffee shop.

Where in Holland is Spijk?  I studied in Groningen (NE Netherlands) in 2001.

exurbkid

I am a kid who lives in the exurbs (wilmington)... its epic, I know

Hi X, there are several Spijks in the Netherlands, including one in Groningen province.  I lived in the one near Gorinchem in South Holland (near Dordrecht).  Groningen is a wonderful city, and visited family there last year.  Am very partial to the north, especially Leeuwarden.

Jimmy,  LOL  I thought you were such a snazzy dresser I thought you were your avatar.. :-D Thanks for the history lesson.

So what happens when some stripper becomes upset at peabody and figures out her age, house, orientation, race, screen name origin, job and most importantly, browser?

That's what I thought. Carry on.

From the lyrics of one of my absolute favorite songs: What Led Me to This Town? by The Jayhawks

Such a lazy afternoon,

Eight shades of gray and I can taste the rain,

Oh, how high the lovely have flown.

What led me to this town?

It's a little melancholy ... mostly about getting your heart broken (which is also unfortunately appropro for my life), but it's also about ending up in a city you never expected to. Seemed appropriate, as I never anticipated I'd accidentally fall in love with Cleveland and stay here.

Some of my friends started calling me "E Rock" either just before or after Eric Turner got drafted by the Browns (very early 90s).  Once I got online I found that spelling was unavailable most places, but this one was available.

DJ Origin.  Where are you located?

Pope, don't get all technical on me!

yesterday I stepped on some DJ Orion postcards/handouts that people toss on the ground at the 59 St. Columbus Circle subway station and almost fell down the steps.  I cursed DJ Orion, in English and Spanish, like nobody's business.  After double checking to make sure nobody saw me take nose dive, I notice it was a flyer for house music CDs....

haha that was not me sad to say...i live near williamsport, pa...

even though during my music-making prime i did spend a lot of time in the city since i lived only an hour to the west in Jersey..

ok then you're the "good" DJ Orion!

yeah i guess...who knows..maybe someday ill have flyers strewn around the streets of new york for people to trip on

My employer _ first and last initials.

The funny thing about the flyers...the artwork is very similar to what you posted earlier.

hmm must be a wanna-be :-P lol a lot of DJ's use the same kind of format to promote shows/mixes...a lot of them DO look exactly the same..this one was a pic of my old room in jersey that i took with my camera phone and then did the rest in photoshop..haha  one of these days i will compile a trance mix called "DJ Orion: Afterburner Sessions" lol

cd-cleveland = I work in the community development field in Cleveland, hence the name.

bump for the newbies

<-- main reason I browse forums on topics of interest.  Overwhelming boredom when I am supposed to be doing something else.  I suppose I should have chosen procrastinator

It's my last name.

It's my last name.

Are you Spanish?

I played an online role-playing game (text based) and thought this username was unique.

First and middle initials, last name, and my favorite number.

I needed a screen name for something back in high school and the only other football team besides the Browns that i support is the arizona cardinals. i just returned from my cousins house in phoenix and he kept telling me that next year the cardinals were actually going to win, well 6 years later im still waiting for them to do something.

cardsnxtyr = Cardinals next year

Now every time i need a screen name for anything i usually always use this one.

I created the username "Cincinnatus" because I live in Cincinnati and thought the Roman ties to the city were fitting.

It's my last name.

Are you Spanish?

No. Hungarian/Irish-Welsh. Morado=purple. Marado=family from Warren.

I thought your family might have been gypsys.  My granny says that's a gypsy name.

LOL, I think I may be offended.

no offense meant, so please don't put a curse on me.

Gypsies, tramps and thieves, I hear it from the people on the internet.
