Posted December 20, 200420 yr What a day. Yesterday felt like the coldest day I have EVER taken pictures in. TomK, ColDay, Grasscat, RichNCincy, Paradox21 and I all met up to highlight the city. Look out for their photo threads. While our rivals to the north (Cleveland) got pounded with snow, we were sunny but frigid. The cold at least made for some good lighting and crisp air without any haze... In the Arts district of "Backstage" Across from the Aronoff Performing Arts Center and next to the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center. The standard in ever Cincy photo thread, Carew Tower Shot PNC Tower built in 1914, was the 5 tallest skyscraper in the world when completed. Originally stood at 507 feet tall with the pyramid on the smoke stack. It currently stands at 495 without. The Former Federal Reserve Bank now is a Piano Bar on 4th Street. We decided to escape the cold, watch the Bengals game and have a beer. The game quickly turned disappointing :( Congrats to the Bills. Cold are we? It is only 4 degrees... 4th Street has to be my favorite in the city. I love the boutiques and the dense narrow streets. I am sure 40 years ago, it was even more impressive. Would that be the ass whooping the Bills gave the Bengals chasing the fans away or the cold? Maybe both... Yes Larry Flynt still has a presence in Cincinnati. I took a shot inside but it wouldn't be appropriate to post :eek: The view looking up at Carew from one of the many city skywalks. In cold weather like this, I am sure you won't hear a soul whining about tearing the skywalks down. Probably one of my favorite shots I have ever taken. It almost looks like a painting. Yes that is outdoors. That is the front exterior of the Maisonette - “The LONGEST running 5 STAR restaurant in the country”. The "NEW" Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center designed by world renown architect Zaha Hadid. Former HQ of Proctor and Gamble This sign is screaming out for a coat of paint One of my favorite things about Main Street is the signage. The sidewalks are quit for a cold Sunday morning. Another building saved. Rightfully named and turned into luxury apartments - Yay! "I have got one eye on you buddy..." Sephia anyone? Looking at downtown from the "West Side" I wish I was as smart as them to have brought gloves :no: Hurry up and decide where too next, it is "COLD". OK, Mt. Echo it is... richNcincy's neighborhood from Mt. Echo. Upon further review, nice house Rich. I have grown to love the old neighborhoods with the density. From atop Riverview Restaurant on the 19th floor of the Radisson. The Brent Spence Bridge that brings I-75 and I-71 traffic across the Ohio River. Kentucky and Ohio politicians are lobbying for its replacement. What a beautiful sunset behind the skyline. Overlooking Mainstrasse, a historic German neighborhood in Covington, Kentucky On the hunt for new skyline angles, we came across this one. My shutter wasn't opened long enough but I still liked it. Paradox21 should have a better shot in his thread. The Mighty Nati at night. Cincinnati is easily one of the best lit cities in the country. It makes for a great night of photography. This shot should give some idea to people that have never been to Cincinnati, how spectacular the views are from peoples yards. I wonder what the people in this home would say if they new there were three strangers with tripods taken pictures on the side of their condo? Extra points if you can pick out the people to the right of me :) Alas I leave you with the Queen shinning bright. Goodnight from Cincinnati...

April 3, 200619 yr It is 5MP with a 12x optical zoom. I also noticed that I have apparently deleted many of the photos linked here. I am always pruning my website and it tends to affect older threads. :(
