So one of my galpals got married this weekend - the wedding was in Bumf#ck, Indiana but my S.O. and I had a little free time to putz around downtown Cincinnati. Of course I had my camera in tow:

We speed away from where we were staying in Indiana - a lovely nuclear plant providing scenery:

But after driving past some office parks and whatnot...

Now THAT'S more like it!

That's one fugly hotel, but the views must be amazing:

I've always loved this old tower:

My S.O. loved this loft building:

All the times I've been to Cincy and I never noticed this building!

Lots of groceries have been sold to build this:

Nifty detailing on this "Citadel" building:

Every city has some corporate blandness:

Carew Tower stands above them all:

Scripps - it's very shiny:

Scripps again:

Two landmarks:

Looks like they sliced off the top!

Props to my S.O. for pointing out the contrast here:

Detail everywhere!

Ever since I saw a B/W pic of this in a book of Ohio architecture, I've wanted to snap a pic. Goal accomplished:

It's attached to a former department store - and a handsome one at that:

A nice stretch of rehabs:

A-dor-able:

It's so... Christo!

Carew, looking taller than 574 feet:

We had to head back:

Ugh:

However, the night before (at the rehearsal dinner) I also snapped some bonus shots from the breathtakingly gorgeous lobby of the Orchid Room at the Netherland Hilton hotel:

And how was Mejana?

LOL, yep it is pretty gruesome after all it is Indiana.  You could feel the rush of your visit within your photos.

I've always loved this old tower:

That's one of my favorites too.  Nice shots.

Here is another view of the Times-Star Building:

Gee Monte, where did you take that photo from?

Those shots from inside the Netherland are great....a classic interior space to say the least!

Great pics! Cincinnati's smaller commercial buildings always impress.

Ach, joyously lovely!  Thank you for touring and posting!  That first shot of Scripps is just fantastic...

And Mejana is always tasty...glad you enjoyed it!

beautiful photos as always, MayDay... you have quite the eye for detail and contrasts... and the corporate blandness comment made me laugh

MayDay is an excellent photographer.
