I'm still holding out hope for a Uniqlo 🤞 Uniqlo would make my wife VERY happy, and save us the annual-ish drive to Chicago.
December 22, 20231 yr Pretty awesome that Easton still attracts some pretty-high end names despite changes in the retail industry in favor of on-line purchasing, the age of the development, and recent negative press. I love Breitling (one of these days I'll be able to afford their cheapest watch!) and I like Boss product offerings as well. Uniqlo would definitely be a huge win and I'm sure would be an instant success. Actually surprised their not at Easton already!
December 22, 20231 yr Uniqlo would fit perfectly in the American Girl space. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

Malls aimed at the middle class in the US are the ones who are hurting most since that's a shrinking cohort and they are the most obsessed with internet buying. Easton is aimed at upper-middle class and up.

Given it's proximity to New Albany and the wealth that comes from that area among others in central Ohio, I'm not surprised by stores like this being viable for Easton.

March 21, 20241 yr Alex Vinash Columbus opens in the Short North this week Alex Vinash may call New York home, but he has become more than comfortable in Columbus. The fashion designer will open his new boutique at 858 N. High St. in the Short North Friday. It’s not an outsider coming to town to make a leap of faith. Vinash has spent extensive time in Columbus. He twice headlined Fashion Week Columbus and he previously was part of the multi-tenant Common Thread boutique downtown. Correct, I'd expect this to be similar to other mid-size market locations like Austin, Denver, etc that lack the full fashion range you would see somewhere like NYC From a google search, these stores typically offer "makeup, skin care, fragrance, eyewear and small leather goods" Edited April 23, 20241 yr by NW24HX
June 11, 20241 yr Diamond Cellar undertakes "eight-figure" expansion at Easton Town Center "The jewelry maker and retailer, which already is 77 years old, is making a big investment in its future with an eight-figure project at its Easton Town Center store that will nearly double the footprint to roughly 15,000 square feet and put several internationally famous luxury brands front and center, including Rolex and Patek Philippe. “We always wanted to grow our home base,” said owner and CEO Andy Johnson. “This is where we live. This is where our families started, so this is important to us. Columbus is our hometown and it deserves the best.” Work is underway to open this year. Both Rolex and Patek Philippe will have their own exterior signs and interior showrooms. Rolex also will have its own entrance in addition to the Diamond Cellar’s new entrance, which is moving to the center of the space. The store will have the full Diamond Cellar roster, which includes its own creations – the company has 16 goldsmiths and four watchmakers on staff between Dublin and Easton – and big-name brands including Chanel, David Yurman, Roberto Coin and Hermes. Patek Philippe has 39 authorized dealers in the United States, the closest of which are in Detroit and Chicago." https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/06/11/diamond-cellar-easton-rolex-patek-philippe.html
January 3Jan 3 I never understood why they tried Field & Stream / Public Lands right across the street from Cabela's. This "new" concept sounds exactly like Galyan's 😂. House of Sport to replace d**k's Sporting Goods and Public Lands at Polaris Fashion Place "d**k's Sporting Goods and its sister store, Public Lands, are liquidating their Polaris Fashion Place locations to make way for a new interactive sports store. Store officials told customers the stores would close after liquidation to make way for a d**k's House of Sport store, a two-year-old concept from d**k's that combines a retail sporting goods store with sports training such as batting cages, climbing walls, fitness classes and indoor golf. Plans submitted to the city call for a two-level store. "House of Sport is an approximately 100,000+ square foot store that provides customers with an incredible assortment of products along with in-store experiences including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackManTM simulators, and multi-sport cages that can be used for baseball, softball, lacrosse and soccer and give customers an opportunity to try product while measuring and tracking their performance," according to a company announcement about previous openings." https://www.dispatch.com/story/business/2025/01/03/house-of-sport-concept-replace-dicks-sporting-goods-public-lands-at-polaris-mall/77428393007/

Businesses that are smart enough to try new concepts will survive. This gives them the ability to have parties and events. Seems like it will do great in the suburbs.

January 4Jan 4 Experiential retail isn't that new of a concept. It just started disappearing after the Walmart-tization of America.
April 20Apr 20 Various new stores coming to Easton, some expansions and relocations. Nothing too exciting to me personally but glad to see continued investment and interest https://columbusunderground.com/12-new-expanded-stores-and-restaurants-at-easton-town-center-we1/ Still no tenant for the large former Forever 21 / Amazon Style space, although IMO it would be a great spot for Uniqlo or Primark if they choose to expand to Ohio
June 3Jun 3 Have you been to Uniqlo or Primark? If you have, you would not be wishing for it to come to Easton.
