Posted September 18, 200618 yr Part 2 of 2. My family and I took a small jet over to Oahu for a day trip. And here are some of the photos: :-D Around Pearl Harbor: (You can see the Aloha Bowl just behind the bridge) -------------- At the USS Arizona Memorial (accessible only by boat): --------------- The windiest place on my whole vacation: ----------------- Punchbowl National Cemetery (The "Arlington of the Pacific): ----------------- Downtown Honolulu.........the pics are not the greatest......I was unable to get out of the car during most of our time downtown...........we didn't want to miss our flight back to the Big Island. :-( View from Interstate H-1 Hawaii State Capital Building Coming back from Punchbowl Cemetery In the middle of town The only royal palace in the US (King Kamehameha.........kuh-may-huh-may-uh) And............Waikiki Beach -------------- Hawaii is such a beautiful state! I will definitely be back! :-D

September 19, 200618 yr quite a place. tropical, beautiful & with lots of history. i believe there is a similiar gold/black statue of kamehameha to the one in front of the palace in washington, dc as well. it's in i think the national archives or somewhere (i dont remember exactly).

I'm pretty sure it's in the U. S. Capitol, under the Rotunda where there are statues saluting all fifty states. I had the fortune of visiting Washington two years ago.
