Columbus was once known as 'Arch City'

Much has been made recently about what Columbus should do to make it a truly superlative place. Some of us, of course, do not think Columbus is all that bad as it is. But it is also fair to say that even the good can always be made a bit better. More than a few people in the recent past have argued that Columbus needs an "image" all its own. When I think of San Francisco, I think of the Golden Gate Bridge. When I think of New York, the Statue of Liberty comes to mind.

Now if we could light those arches...

Uh...I think another city has already taken over that image. And of course there is that restaurant too...

While we are on the subject of arches, does Ohio still have that large sky blue arch over I-70 when you cross the Indiana line?

Yeah it's still there, and it's still about a half a mile before the actual state line.

It's there actually for a truck weighing station.

^Awesome!, thanks Magyar.

Do you know any history on it? It makes me think of all that 50's footage of the postwar boom/interstate lifestyle.
